I never wanted this covid-19 to appear during this time but we don't have many options because now the situation is very unpredictable and may get worse if it continues. The crypto market this year will tend to fall more and this is also a very good opportunity for people to consider investing if possible. Of course the risk will be higher than normal because you do not know when the market will return to the uptrend.

I would say not when, but if and when.
It is obvious that globally the economy will recover and sooner or later beat its past peaks. But some industries may disappear or change beyond recognition. How will the crisis affect the transition from fossil fuel vehicles to electric cars? It can be slow, or it can completely kill technologies that are considered obsolete.
This also applies to cryptocurrencies. Perhaps regulators will increase their pressure and try to crush this market (or replace real cryptocurrencies with state ones) - no one knows. Therefore, I agree with you - the risks in investing have grown/will grow very seriously.

The year 2020 is unlikely to be bearish, most likely the market will just stand still, I think that gradually the market will recover and slowly grow up, but this is my personal opinion.

We all are aware of bitcoin halving and most of the users are discussing about a possible bitcoin pump post halving which might or not not give pump to the value of altcoins. So do you think halving will provide openings for altcoins with a pump or altcoins will continue to be bearish in 2020?
If the corona pandemic does not end soon, the possibility of bearish will continue this year, but it is also possible if the bull run could occur before or after halving day bitcoin later in May 2020, so, we cannot predict with certainty what will happen in 2020 this, but certainly we must be prepared to face all the possibilities that exist by continuing to monitor and analyze the price of bitcoin and alt coin movements in the market, so that if bearish occurs at least we can minimize the losses that exist and vice versa if the bull run occurs we are ready and can benefit from the investment assets that we have.

After recent events  this question and the thread itself looks completely different. In just 4 months, the world and world markets have changed dramatically. But this only proves that one can predict, but no one can be sure. So, I hope there is a possibility of a positive bullish scenario.

It is clear that 2020 will not be a bullish year, most likely the rest of the year the market will either stand still or gradually fall, only time will show how it really will be.

Asides the upcoming bitcoin halving, you can be hopeful on bitcoin market cutting short on its bearish run because of its young age and promising future when compare to other markets like stocks and also with respect to the fact that the world is fast shifting to the digital era of IoT. Interest in physical markets will continue to thin out

What you can see on the current market situation it is laready a good sign that bulls are just preparing for the market pump ,because were near to the bitcoin halving.
halving is irrelevant now. The global crisis and coronavirus are now the most significant things for the price of bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market. halving would be a very strong event if there were no other factors. Now people are afraid of events in the world and therefore the cryptocurrency market is not a good option for them.
yes youre right the corona virus pandemic made a huge impact on our world economy, cryptocurrency market crash also . Market will only recover once the pandemic is over and maybe the recovery will take next year.

Even though the market has not improved, I am still optimistic that halving bitcoin will help the price of altcoins rise. I think 2020
will be different with 2019 experiencing bearish, in 2020 the price of altcoins will rise. The moment will occur when halving the
bitcoin event end up. Therefore we must buy altcoins that have good potential before halving occurs. So when halving occurs and
price altcoins go up we can enjoy profits.
Now there is no certainty that the price of Bitcoin may increase as covid-19 is making the situation worse and if not careful then you will easily lose money during this time. In my opinion, there is no reason for Bitcoin to increase and it is best to sit still and wait for the disease situation to get better. Investor sentiment is very panicked, so any bad news can cause this market to collapse.

Bitcoin itself wont be too bearish in a continuing trend for all of 2020, it will be a bit of both.  How I would label this year would be in revision, 2018 was a decline and the 2019 the recovery and some spike in the price. 2020 will revise this action and in 2021 I would guess we will rise far more consistently.    With alt coins part of that, they do best when BTC is rising for some weeks and with larger gains rather then this back and forth then 2020 will see especially now with the virus news and cycle of treatment, etc.

Bull run 2017 was in no way connected with the bitcoin halving. Therefore, I am surprised by his assumption. And if you look globally, the market has changed (I mean market participants) - everyone understands that there are good coins, and there are bad ones that are not worth buying even if the whole market is growing.

What happened in 2017 was more like a market manipulation, they manipulate bitcoin and altcoins were healthy that time that is why it cause a bull run for all, ICO was very successful despite it was reported to have a lot of scams, but after, it has corrected and now some altcoins are dead while others survive but still struggling. We are hoping if ever we will see a bull run, it would be a strong one so it will not dump right after.

There were manipulations on the market before 2017 and after. But that year, interest in cryptocurrencies went global - a lot of people learned about this sphere. Therefore, I believe that that growth was fundamentally justified. You hope for new growth, but what foundation/reason do you see for it?

How is halving and rising prices for altcoins related? Do you think that people due to halving will start selling bitcoin and buying alts? Or do you think that the whole market will begin to grow in the face of the global crisis? But this growth will require billions of dollars. Both options seem extremely unlikely to me.
Well I think he based his statetement to the previous movement of the market wherein everytime bitcoin price increase altcoins are following. It means bitcoin has influence in alts hence he is expecting the crypto as a whole will have a positive impact due to the coming halving. There's no concerete basis for this to happen but who knows the market is unpredicted anyway.

Maybe he has a positive prediction about the correlations between BTC and altcoins. The big price movement of the BTC can lead to higher prices on the different altcoins but I doubt the whole market will go up just because of the halving.

Everyone will rush to sell the fact due to the bought rumors. Buying rumours let the experienced trader do his ideas before everyone else, Mark Doughlas explained this very well: If the trader sees the share of the company rises in value on TV, it is too late to buy the shares of that stock. Acting fast is important, the bearish market will end sooner but only early birds will be able to harvest the winning in the next bull market.

I would like to see a bull market in 2020, but in fact, it is likely to be a bear market, and the virus that is now found all over the world, but I hope that soon the market will recover and begin to grow.
its disturbing for most bitcoin maximalist especially with the approaching halving that should pull the short term bull market but pandemic had affected the world economy. Its more for long term investors that can wait beyond the crisis. Halving doesnt look to bring the drive for the pre-halving anymore and profit taking might be toward the end of the year. It is a time to buy more if the fund is available.
If there was no pandemic, then most probably we are feeling the hype now already, maybe bitcoin would be trading over $10,000.
But this situation now is really big, it's destroying the world financially and since we are in the financial world, we are also affected with this.

As for me, recovery is already a big achievement amidst this big global crisis, and we are doing that.
