I can’t imagine that bitcoin can destroy our world, how they can invented a things like this if they have a bad effects on our world, besides they are also affected if this is the purpose of bitcoin why they are invented then.
if it's the purpose of btc that destroy the world, then btc has been menghasncurkan from the first. so btc it could have purpose something but do not want to destroy the world.

Bitcoin mining is based on very high energy costs and environmental costs.

One bitcoin =20 barrels of oil.

How many barrels of oil do you think the industry consumes every year?

10 barrels? 50 barrel?

Each year, the mining industry consumes more than 24 terawatts of energy, the equivalent of 13,239,916 barrels of oil.

Every 10 minutes, 12.5 bitcoins are dug up, meaning 20 barrels of crude oil have been reached since each bitcoin was dug up (not yet traded).

In other words, the amount of energy consumed by the global bitcoin mining campaign is 40 times greater than the amount of energy needed to support the Visa card network.

One bitcoin transaction = one American family USES electricity a week.

According to encrypt the currency analyst Alex DE Vries estimate an index, the currency trading energy consumed each year more than 24 tw, this is equivalent to total energy consumed each year in Nigeria, which has a population of 186 million.

Currently, about 300,000 bitcoins are traded each day. Each bitcoin transaction costs 215 kilowatt-hours of energy.

The average American household USES about 901 kilowatt-hours of electricity a month, which means that each bitcoin exchange consumes enough energy to make an American family comfortable for a week.

What do you think about the energy consumption of bitcoin?
I also think that bitcoin mining do consume a lot of power consumption that may have contributed to sort of pollution. The way I see it the consumption could be just very minimal and no a threat to the environment. Considering that many rich countries are into renewable source of energy which I think for some countries that also do mining should also consider using alternative source of energy for it's operation.

Hopefully our oil company can withstand the demand of oil usage around the globe with its never ending upgrade of technologies and facilities for about another millennium or Approximately 90 years from now. Let us still consider what we do have now, coins that are still on the mine are only a few years away compared to the first years so after that the consumption will lessen, leading to more energy. The problem is the major impact of technologies and Facilities that are excessively using these resources that can lead to the destruction of the world.

Why this topic come's out of thier mind, bitcoin will not destroy the world. There are some people try to discourage the people about bitcoin. Bitcoin will help us to make our life easier, to sustain your daily needs and for the energy consuming by bitcoin there's a lot of resources to use.

What a hilarious notion!

Are you speaking of the energy required to mine bitcoin? Really? Ever hear of solar and wind energy?

Also what about the costs of mining metal such as gold and silver? Will that destroy the world too?

Or what about oil drilling and pumping? And what about oil consumption? And the greenhouse affects....that's not destroying the world?

There are always people who will find the negative in positive things.  Roll Eyes

I dont think that bitcoin will destroy the world. Butcoin is not even among the top 1000 ventures that consume energy around the whole wide world. I think the nuclear weapons being created by some other companies and the government of some nations, not bitcoin.
I agree with your opinion, Bitcoin has brought many benefits to the world economy, they have brought income to many people in the world. Anything that also exists two sides bad and good. In the BTC market too.

of course not, bitcoin will not destroy the world, bitcoin technology is created because it wants to make a solution to alleviate the financial condition in the world but if you talk technology all the technology like a double-edged sword which means it could just destroy the user so there is no harm in being cautious.

What do you think about the energy consumption of bitcoin?

I think the energy consumption in mining bitcoin can be solve if we use renewable energy from the sun or wind. The technological advancement like bitcoin needs energy but we also need to conserve our environment and personally, I think green energy is the solution. So I don't really think that mining in this digital world can directly affect the environmental crisis we are already dealing with.
Yes, talking about energy uses for bitcoin mining is totally can't destroy the world because there is an option of using green energy that can be used like of that solar energy or the wind energy and in fact it truly help those people who have no income by having good earning from bitcoin, therefore bitcoin helps people to live better life in this world.
Most people are now resorting to using solar powered energy to mine their crypto currencies and I believe it would be more effective if it was done in sub Saharan Africa where the sun is very strong and is available almost 11 months in a year.Energy used for mining is really not a problem at all.

This is another side that can be said negative news about bitcoin which certainly has an impact on the price decline, when the issue of energy and global warming brought it is a difficult thing to deny.

I read a tech article that says all the technology created has the potential to destroy the world, so I think this bitcoin could potentially destroy the world depending on its use, if used for bad things then it can certainly destroy the world.

maybe I am less understood with mathematics and physics but for words like the above I think it is impossible.

let's have a look at Exchange Bittrex when WithDraw 1 Bitcoin and on transfer to Exchange Binance takes about 2 hours and it's needed by electricity + internet and notebook.

Talking of energy consumption? Bitcoin is not even among the top 1000 ventures that consume energy around the globe. Revise the statistics of researches and you will get to know the companies swallowing much of the earth's energy like the whales in the sea. Maybe you can read about the nuclear and other heavy weapons being created by some companies and governments of some nations. These are the people to talk about in terms of energy consumption and not Bitcoin.

If that is true then we are already on the verge of setting up the global warming by adding the mining operations of the bitcoin. The global warming already existed however the thing has gotten intense now a days just because of the bitcoin mining. I believe that the electricity companies might be blessed with the top ups that they are getting but they might be tired by producing more energy than the normal rates.

If the objective of bitcoin is to destroy the world. Now this could have destroyed at least a small portion of the world. The motto for which it has been developed is different, and even by this instance it has got lots of illegal usage and the same doesn't mean it is destroying the world. It's been used for illegal needs, because even without bitcoin illegal activities were taking place in a common manner.

I see that you have some good points. We are wasting energy here that could eventually create a world wide phenomena. That is why countries are making efforts to awaken others about the effects of burning oil and other forms of energy sources that had greatly created an impact to our planet earth which could lead to its destruction. People around the world celebrate the Earth Hour to remind us about this. But I would have to make it clear that it is not just about bitcoin, in every action being done when we used our energy source, we affect the Earth.
