I don't think that Bitcoin rally will kill altcoins. From my experience I can say that when Bitcoin is going to a bubble (now it is uncertain if it is entered it or it is just pre-ETF speculation) altcoins are pumping even harder than BTC. It means that you can get more profits holding altcoins instead of keeping all portfolio in BTC. Only time will tell but I think that very soon all altcoins including shitcoins will pump very hard. Historical charts are teaching us about that. Though not all agree that historical patterns of chart moving is important but I'm sure they are.

I don't think bitcoin price will kill altcoins, I think it will become alternative for bitcoin because of bitcoin price is expensive,
altcoins will become good choice because of not all of people can buy 1BTC because it is too expensive
or they can not take high risk if bitcoin price going down.

this is kinda my fear, however like someone said, the $ value goes up even if the altcoins go down so in a way it is not that bad if you want to cash out.

I think that when BTC stabilizes or corrects, Alts will go up some probably higher then there were before. It is all about right timing and luck.

Bitcoin will not kill Altcoins, they are still needed in this cryptocurrency world... How will the Bitcoin kill the Litecoin Network? or Dash? or Monero?  Those networks are valuable because there are people working or mining in that.

We don't need too many alts, we just need best ones, and when BTC kills all those copy paste projects, we will have more room for real good alts! Even LTC holding price very well if you pair it with $. Yes it will kill shitcoins!

If you are meaning that the rise of bitcoin will limit the price of altcoin in terms of bitcoin, my answer is yes. There is no point in buying altcoins when the bitcoin is rising. I might as well hold bitcoin instead. When bitcoin is stagnating, I can take the opportunity to buy into some altcoin to make more bitcoin.

I don´t think the Bitcoin price will kill other Alts. If other Alts die if from lack of community support and investment. With the Bitcoin price going up what we will see is a lot of people dumping their Alts to get some profits in Bitcoin. And if this happens the price of the coins being dump will drop to very low levels which can motivate disinterest in the coin. At least that's the way the Bitcoin price can mostly affect Altcoins.

With bitcoin price breaking all records and still rising, what do you think will it kill the altcoins for a lot of people will sell their Altcoin holdings and convert it to bitcoin.
Your views which Altcoin will survive and keep rising with bitcoin?

It is always happening the same that when ever their is rise in bitcoin you will surely see the selling pressure in altcoins as most of them are holding altcoins for profit in bitcoins and when they are seeing that bitcoin price is getting appreciated then they will shit all their altcoins profit to bitcoins and when the worthy altcoin are down to some limit most of the traders will start buying back that altcoin for investment. This is the procedure for a good trader.

I think that ETH will survive for sure. I perceive it as an absolutely separate currency. And it is backed by a strong team, willing to develop Ethereum and spread a word about it. This is what most altcoins lack.

ETH will always survive, and eth too strong to get die as soon as possible. And i don't care what the others said. But in fact more users are come the to ethereum. How it grow with a lot of the fiat pairs. and continue to grow. I like it.

I think cryptocurreny market is a good channel to invest in and the bitcoin price will not rise up forever so it impossibly kill altcoins . In moment cycle of BTC price, it can go up and then down. So at the moment of BTC going up, the market tend to sell their altcoin to BTC or trade it to another currency such as USD, CNY. It lead to altcoins market going down a bit but when the price of BTC collapse, altcoins value will rehibilitate. And it plays as a cycle.

With bitcoin price breaking all records and still rising, what do you think will it kill the altcoins for a lot of people will sell their Altcoin holdings and convert it to bitcoin.
Usually altcoin prices are reversely proportional to bitcoin value. This is due to maintain the same fiat value equivalent.
Hence, when bitcoin finds value appreciations, altcoins will lose their corresponding satoshi value. But, once bitcoin finds stable value, altcoins will start their rally. Means, investors might move their money from bitcoin into altcoins. I have observed this many times.

Your views which Altcoin will survive and keep rising with bitcoin?
The survival of altcoin is not influenced by bitcoin's value. If a coin has reasons then it will attract investors and adopters to stay with us.

Bitcoin price will not continue rising forever, we experienced this case earlier when it reached over $1050 then fell under $850. From other side, I think this rise can give more value to other altcoins which are growing, in my opinion, Bitcoin will not be the only dominant cryptocurrency in the future.

but that was another case, it went below $1000 only because of the bad news of chinese exchange, not because it was not holding that value, you can't compare the two, i've noticed that bitcoin is onyl dumped on bad news, otherwise would always increase slowly

well first of all that rise started from $780 and ended up at $900 despite all the fluctuations in the middle, and that is called a price rise. you are only looking at half the change!

also bitcoin will continue rising for the foreseeable future. and it will last at least a couple of years. and it may not kill altcoins but it will always hit the altcoin market pretty hard since everyone pulls out their money out of this market and moves to bitcoin at times like this when bitcoin is rising.

If Bitcoins could get transferred from one person to another then Altcoins won't be wiped from existence. Altcoins usually have a Blockchain to show a public receipt to the people who want to lookup transactions within a certain timeframe.

If an Altcoin doesn't have the same features as Bitcoin then it would just be called another form of Digital Currency and Blockchains/sidechains/public receipts don't need to exist in that concept.

If you get the point of what I am trying to write is that the price of Bitcoin could keep most Altcoins alive if the whole Blockchain works because if there is a point where Bitcoins Blockchain gets zero transfers because it is frozen from billions upon billions+ of transactions then there isn't anything to do other than holding the coin and Bitcoin/Altcoin trading won't be possible unless it's physical transfers and that is unlikely to happen.

no it can not "kill the altcoins" if anything it will make them hotter, because majority of altcoins are used for pump and dump and in order to help us make more bitcoin and with higher price bitcoin it means we make higher amount of money.
and altcoins will survive and die regardless of bitcoin price, they die when their pump-ability is exhausted.

This is what is somehow happening. All of the altcoins I am following, without a single exception, are down when compared to the price before the greatest rise of all.

this only means you are not following good altcoins.
for example here is Monero last month:

Have been thinking of raising a thread in like manner. I dont seem to get any answer for this my question with all my search in few days. The price expected after the March 11, Is the all time high that bitcoin has not experienced, so I cant be too sure anyone can give a reliable prediction. If the value of bitcoin triples, it wont automatically triples the altcoin. More so, a lot of this coins are dumping, which most people will like to hold their coin until it stabilize a little. Those ICOs that had been done since that had not being on the exchanges, I expect a manipulation in the price which I dont want to describe that could be  fraudulent
