According  to this chart:
Big picture

Close up

We have 3 possible scenarios:
~30% correction in range 55k usd +/- 5k usd
End of bubble now
Or to the moon rally without correction.
So what do you think will happen?

Or better yet, aim for a different target this time. We already reached 50k, and we are only in the second month of this year. So maybe, 60 or 70k is the next target here. For those who bought even last January, is already enjoying their profits right now. Many institutions and companies are still coming into crypto, this means, they believe the capability of bitcoin or crypto in the next years to come.

So 50k USD level exceeded, but rejected very soon ...
So what next?
Look at this chart:
https://www.lookintobitcoin.com/charts/bitcoin-investor-tool/
Bitcoin broke up upper, red line only once without correction, in spring 2013,
every other cases when bitcoin has risen over red line were preceded by at least2 , and up to 4 major correction (25% or more)
I think it is most likely we will have correction now.
Any thoughts?

According to that chart, we could have a few bounce backs before we finally break through the 2-Year MA Multiplier line. That could happen even at $ 100k levels, right?
I don't think we're close to any major correction right now. Especially when we consider all the good news from institutional investors that has been pouring in lately.

Good yes "crypto is all about being an alternative financial system to the world" and that's why I believe that the main point of crypto is HOLD. If you want to speculate the price and want to try to buy dip and sell high, maybe you will get profits, but to maximize your profits you should go to the main point.... HOLD

If the trend continues, it can reach up to $70k, as Elon Musk advertise BTC as a great investment and people seems to be attracted to it. With just a simple tweet, Musk can easily increase BTC by 5-10k.

In the unpredictable world of crypto, anything can happen. Considering that we're still in the "hype cycle", prices for Bitcoin and other prominent cryptocurrencies on the market will go higher faster than you could ever imagine. We could easily reach past $50k in the upcoming months. Who knows how much Bitcoin will be worth by the end of 2021?

Regardless of what Bitcoin's prices are, it's always important to secure profits whenever possible. If you "hodl" forever without selling anything, you could risk yourself losing everything in a blink of an eye. You can easily make a ton of money if you take advantage of Bitcoin's price volatility. There's no need to wait until Bitcoin hits $50k or even $100k in the future, if you can manage to make profits with price fluctuations on the market. Remember, crypto is all about being an alternative financial system to the world. Speculating on each crypto assets' price is another story. As long as don't let greed to take control of you, everything will be fine. You can invest a little today, and earn some decent profit if Bitcoin reaches $50k or more in the future. I'd be surprised if Bitcoin hits $100k by the end of 2021. Just my opinion Smiley

Time to call it a day gents:

I suggest to lock this thread, and move to the “100k by 2021” thread.

It has been a nice and short ride.

I find it unbelievable, too.  I've said it before:  if you'd asked me if bitcoin would hit $50k in 2021 last March when COVID-19 was just starting to become a thing where I live, I would have been confident in saying "NO".  And yet here we are, and it's not even a year later and bitcoin is in the high $40k's.  Crazy market, this is.

49,714.16 is the ATH on Bitstamp, so yes, breaking 50,000 is just something we can surely see happening very soon, getting rid of this thread.

Regarding the crazy market, I guess we are experiencing nothing more and nothing less than the power of the halving: price has been steadily following the S2F model!

In March market was pricing at discount from the model, while now it’s pricing the bitcoin a little bit above.
I would call crazy the idea a model could predict the market since 2010, rather than the bull run this very model had predicted.

it was just 500 dollars away to reach 50k
Was it?  I haven't been obsessively watching bitcoin's price but I have been checking it every few days, and I don't remember it being above $49k (though I certainly could have missed it, and I haven't looked at a chart except for the one above this post).

Anyway, this would be one of the easiest predictions to make--yeah, I'd say bitcoin's going to rocket past $50k, and it's going to do it sooner rather than later.  All of this institutional money that's been pouring into the market seems like a trend rather than a one-off incident.  Things seem extremely bullish for bitcoin right now.

yeah, every bubble burst start with correction..
Current situation is little worrying
,
we were very close to break up resistance of 49000 USD, but failed and market reaction was very negative;
current candles indicate possible further correction; look at 8/9th January candles layout.

Bitcoin- in bullish time
February 14, 2021, 06:42:39 PM
@South Park, I'd rather  tell about months, not years.
I know some people spoke about 100k for BTC last year, but you can always find such predictions from some hyper-optimistic people Wink
For me to reach previous ATH at 20k USD seemed to be just a dream.
Only one worrying thing it is that bubble always bursts when noone excpect it...
Well that is a very healthy attitude to have especially when comparing that attitude against those that are always expecting a bull run even when the market is crashing, however I do not really expect a crash to happen anytime soon, the market is simply too strong and it was just 500 dollars away to reach 50k and if this tendency continues then it could only take days or at most a few weeks so we can see that price as the excitement over bitcoin is not dying down and instead it's going up despite what governments may like.
Dumps can't be ignored, they soon to come out but it was not the same as what we got before. These institutional investors making it possible to hold. And as they are securing more Bitcoin in anticipating the future demand, the more chance that we still keep at a high level unlike what happens before especially when panic sellers dump their Bitcoin. But for now, we see a huge difference, and people are now learning how to keep strong despite the FUDs and corrections.

Bitcoin has reached more than $48k at that time.
If the scheme is still like the current condition, it may not need to be at the end of this year. If the bullish time is still happening, only in few periods, the Bitcoin price may hit $50k.
Sometimes, Bitcoin price increase significantly because of good fundamental news and drop drastically and very easily because of bad news.

It will not only hit but surpass the $50k level the market is going strong every week the $50k is good to go this month of February, I'm not good in candle chart but only rely on news coming in the market and the reaction of the community, so far we already have two good news, PayPal and Elon Musk and I believe there will be more.
Base on my observation with regards to the bitcoin price i can also say that bitcoin will surely reach $50k few months from now, i believe that at the end of 2021 bitcoin will rise up to 60k$ beacause we still in febuary but the price of btc is now 49k$ it almost hit 50k$ so i think 60k$ is not imposible to reach.

If the trend continues, it can reach up to $70k, as Elon Musk advertise BTC as a great investment and people seems to be attracted to it. With just a simple tweet, Musk can easily increase BTC by 5-10k.

I think 2021 will be a great year for crypto currency. If we think about the price of bitcoin then we are far from only $3k. At the end of this year, bitcoin may hit $100k and it is very possible.
Very likely. Those who are still waiting for the bearish turn should have been waiting for long and they have no choice but to get into it once the bear comes in and there's no longer bullish sign. But if you observe bitcoin for the past months and even today, there's no sign that we're entering into the bearish trend. It's just disturbing to see that there are still some people who keep saying that they'll wait $1k-$3k for bitcoin until they buy, good luck to them.

It's very obvious that at the last quarter of 2020, we have started to see a bullish sign and then it trickle down to 2021. So unlikely to see the bears this year, they are out of the picture for now as the bulls herd keeps on running and there are no stopping them.

Those people who keeps on waiting are either a troll, doesn't want to really invest on the market or they are really at lost as to what is going on and can't decided to enter because they don't know how everything works in a bull market.
My thoughts about them is that they've lost the opportunity of buying the dip and they can no longer be happy with others profitability. Instead of being happy with others gain, they're just bluffing or discouraging those whoever they can annoy and just keep on pissing the others who doesn't have anything to do with them. As long as the others will read whatever useless thought that they have, at least in their minds, they have already annoyed and gave some confusion to those who payed attention to them.

$50 around 10 months from now?? It's so easy for Bitcoin to reach this price, about a couple of days ago, Bitcoin almost breaks it but correction. Correction needed for more jumping. If you just ask can Bitcoin reach $50K, you should change your question that " Will Bitcoin reach $100K or $200K by the end of 2021??
Basically you forget to add when he added this price, Bitcoin was around the range of $30k to $32k when OP asked this question and going by what the market was then, one could easily conclude that we will hit above a $50k before the end of 2021. Personally when the said Bitcoin get stucked at the said price i concluded that we might not exceed the $80k point but with the look of things we are good to go above any mentioned figures as Bitcoin adoption increases.
