Not quite as Bitcoin is a form of currency, whereas gold has many other time-tested applications, from jewelry to dentistry to electronics.

I think Bitcoin will conquer high volume in the trade of gold but, to be honest, I don't think that it will actually replace the gold in any way. The gold market is not just limited to the digital trades but there is huge offline demand too which affects the price of it following the rule of demand and supply. However, when it comes to trading I think Bitcoin is better than gold at this stage because volatility in the price provides more opportunities for the traders as compared to the ordinary behavior.

There is no reason for comparison .  Gold is metal , Bitcoin is virtual currency.  They are just like water and food .  We cannot compare these two . Gold is nature product not created Bitcoin is tech and mathematics product , which is to be mined

The best thing to compare is what is easier to earn and how fast you could earn. Bitcoin can be earned by anyone and we can earn more money because of bitcoins so in my own opinion, I think that bitcoin can really replace gold in the future.

I must say as well: Of course not.
Gold is not only a way to store value, it is needed in the industry for many reasons as well.
We have gold in nearly every electric device. That is something bitcoin can not deliver.

No. No. No. No. No. There is no way Bitcoin will replace physical Gold. It would mean gold would be worthless, and if Gold becomes worthless and BTC is based off of it, or called "virtual gold", I am pretty sure this will have a negative effect on it.

A big no yeah, bitcoin can't replace gold and even many are calling it as the new and modern gold of this age still bitcoin can't be and shouldn't be compare to bitcoin. They have a lot of differences and we are here so we are talking depending on our feeling. Virtual gold, bitcoin as new gold and there is also bitcoin gold whatever people say, gold is a different entity so bitcoin is.

I think bitcoin and gold are two different and separate things, bitcoin is not a gold competitor because market share is different, if any say bitcoin can replace gold then it will never happen, gold until whenever will be accepted and price stable while bitcoin not necessarily can last 100 years.

I agree with you, Bitcoin and Gold are not related to dropping between Bitcoin and Gold because gold is longer found than bitcoin Wink
thats true, i think though bitcoin is becoming popular and is widely used for investments or such as, bitcoin will not be possible to replace gold, let alone i do not think that bitcoin is a competitor for gold, both of them are not directly related you know? although bitcoin price rises it will not make the gold price down right ?

These days you will find many debates regarding categorising BTC as commodity (gold, silver, etc) or currency (cash). Definitely something to take into consideration if we are to remark on the long term viability of BTC as gold or cash.
But that is a fake debate, gold and silver are money, everything is a commodity but only a selected few commodities can be money since they have all the necessary characteristics, and gold and silver have been used as money for a long time so it is obvious that bitcoin is money too.

Bitcoin is already on it's way to replacing gold, look at the price! Beyond that Bitcoin is just an overall better store of value, long term, that can not be tampered with, unlike gold.

I don't think bitcoin can replace gold since they are both of different forms. Gold for one is a physically mined metal while bitcoin is a digital currency and its volatile. Though they both are good for investment, but they are of different categories. However, the disadvantage for gold is that the price difference or profit gained is not that high since its value isn't fluctuating unlike bitcoin.
I think the number of people use Bitcoin is more than gold. There is a popular university in my country has accepted their students use Bitcoin to pay school fee. More and more people have approached Bitcoin than gold. Bitcoin has also changed many people's life and it continuously gains trusts from people around the world.

In fact, bitcoin has the same functions as gold, so it is also a viable alternative to currency. But with another bitcoin is not a full-fledged money because it is not considered a generally accepted form of calculation, like gold. But bitcoin still has all the same properties as gold, so in the future it can become one of the best means of preserving value, since the total number of bitcoins will be limited (this may indicate that its value will only grow); the gradual increase in the number of bitcoins in circulation did not provoke critical changes in the total bitcoins volume and, finally, the bitcoin of the transaction can not be faked. While history knows cases of falsification with gold.

Gold in general is no better. The value of gold is nothing more than a result of a global consensus - at the moment everyone agrees to consider gold a measure of value, simply because this measure is in some form or another necessary. If we assume a utopian situation, that tomorrow everyone agrees that gold is not such a measure, then it will be good only for the production of quality wires and trinkets.
The btc is gaining momentum for exactly the same reason - the global consensus towards the btc is constantly being strengthened. In this case, unlike gold, the cue-ball is not only a measure of value, but also a settlement system, and gold is not a competitor for this parameter.
Bitcoin and gold, both have unique value in their own way. Both of them cannot be replaced. The value of bitcoin may keep on increasing but it doesn't mean that it may replace gold. Gold is a precious metal and will have its own value and it is stable.

bitcoin is the best but I think again about the gold that will be replaced by bitcoin, it's possible but gold will not be replaced by anyone because gold is always there in the world until whenever.

Gold has been in use for more than 5,000 years now. Compared to that, the fiat cash is much younger. And another fact is that gold is being regarded as an asset, and not as a currency. Nowadays Bitcoin is also being regarded as an asset, but it needs to be seen whether a physical asset can be replaced with a purely digital asset such as BTC.

Absolutely not, gold is gold and whatever happens world it is still gold and always does.
But, without internet and computer networks, there's not Bitcoin. Bitcoin can be valued as a ton of gold but there's a big chance it will lose it's value but Gold has always value in it.

gold and bitcoin are two different types. I like gold and also on bitcoin, but if I have to compare between the two, I do not think it needs to be done. both have their own character and usability. gold I use for offline investment, and bitcoin I use as currency, means of payment and investment. but if told to judge in terms of popularity, bitcoin is superior to gold (only in my opinion)

For me, Bitcoin already replaced gold when it comes to the value and this is just an opinion and also one good thing is that even though bitcoin is just a virtual currency it is hard for someone to stole it unless the user is careless compared to gold wherein you cannot walk on the streets with a gold in your wallet Smiley Well, the good thing about gold is that is like a treasure that you can keep.

I think gold will be there for ever. Even when there will be no crypto nor us.
Gold like BTC has a finite number. Bicoin knows her. With no gold. We're talking about ore for extraction.
