I agree. There are so many posts about "predicting" when or how much bitcoin will rise in the next few months or years. I think everyone knows by now that reality that cryptocurrency is the best definition of uncertainty in terms of a currency. Even if we know, following past trends, that it will rise up and gain traction at any given point in time, no one can accurately and really tell with accuracy when it will catch fire again or how much it would grow. I think the most possible amount to reach would be around 15-17k because gunning for over 20k would be too much.

Speculating is fun, but if you are a long term holder yo do not really care about when the price is going to go up, as long as it does then you are fine, those that bought at 200 dollars do not care if a few weeks ago we were close to 10k and now we are at 17k they got incredible profits already.

I really hope that such predictions will come true. At least there is a hope that even if you buy Bitcoin at today's price of $ 16,000, you'll have to wait for a lamb in the US. Of course you need to be patient, as previous forecasts have all come true, so what is predicted for the future should also come true.

Awesome news. Im now confident that we are going to an all time high soon. Realize that we have broken the previous peak of $16,400 on late december, and now we are going to try the $17400 former peaks of early December. If we can get past that, then we will try for an all time high again, and I don't believe in double tops, Bitcoin always blasts through them, maybe not at first attempt tho, so buy the dip and hold. Im definitely bullish by looking at the current graph. Once big merchants adopt segwit the mempool will clear and this will push the price higher as well.

Probably it could be happened. By the end of 2017 the price of Bitcoin going to decreasing and now, it's 2018 January where the price of bitcoin increasing and it's 16521.21$ which going to hit 17k$

Better to let them grow slowly but steadily. As the price will grow too fast to 20k $ it can again be a big correction like in December.

This is all my internal speculation but given that some of the altcoins have been surging a lot lately, and given that now apparently some of them are downtrending (like Ripple for example) - it's pretty clear to me what's happening. Altcoins got pumped and now the money is gradually flowing back into Bitcoin during the dump.

I say gradually because Bitcoin would have shot up a lot higher and faster if all the money drained right away, but we'll get there. Look at how fast we went from almost 20k down to almost 10k a few weeks ago. As soon as the FUD starts to hit on some of those altcoins and the FOMO starts with the rising BTC price, people will convert their money back into Bitcoin.

I'm expecting >20k in the next week or so. That might even be a conservative view of it. It all depends on which direction the whales decide to go in, but I have a feeling the money will flow back into BTC soon.

Yeah, very likely at least from the look of things. It is still under probability and we are presently having a sideways resistance for now which still pretty much looks like anything can happen on a breakout which could either lead up or down as the case may be. However, whichever way bitcoin pleases to move in the market based on the action of all of us, it will definitely do, so for now, it is just realistic to keep on following trend to see where the market leads.

That's not assured, the price could even grow much higher in value in a much lesser time period. Look at the price increase that took place over the past year. So, at present it stays above $1600 and the new ath might get marked above $1700 by the week end as couple of days were left.

Price is rising today and it is up from 8-12% on all exchanges,but it remains to be seen can it hold at 16k $ level or it will go down as was the case recently.What causes this price increase is hard to say,maybe people are more optimistic regarding BTC scalability problem,we see LocalBitcoins is enabled SegWit and Coinbase is announced that seriously working on it.On the other side it can only be whales playing one more pump&dump game in order to make a profit.

Slow growth is always better and it will make correction less drastic,so in my opinion it is better to stay bellow 20k $ for some time.My target for this year is "only" 30 000$,who can ask for more then 100% increase

Hello January 2018, the pump of those coins that made it to the top 10 of CMC are now start to feel some pain.

It's now the rise of bitcoin and the price is moving quickly that it was able to break it out again at $16,000.

$20,000 at the end of this month I guess.

And it's starting to make itself ready for it's big fluctuation in a positive way that is about to come. And it's playing around $14,600 - $15,000 and if this will be continuous then it will be a big pump for bitcoin and there will be a lot of altcoin holders that will start to dump their coins and will jump off to bitcoin just to ride the bull run again. I'm sure of that there will be another series of fraudsters comment about bitcoin that wants to pull it over again.
