BitcoinCash BCC on August 1st.

BCC is going to be an altcoin rather than a split in the original Bitcoin blockchain, right? So what do I need to do in order to claim these coins? Do I need to import the private key of my Bitcoin wallet in to the BCC wallet? Isn't that risky?

Theres a 50-50 chance for bitcoin to split on August 1. Others are backing up thier bitcoins. But in my opinion it would be wise if you will turn all of your bitcoin to altcoins? Just buy altcoins. After August 1, rebuy your Bitcoin using your altcoins.

Where did you get 50-50 from?

Lets just wait until August 1 then we will know what will happen.

No need. Split worries are now officially over. BIP 148 isn't going to be needed.
Bitcoin's price increased substantially over the period of last 24 hours - we have almost 20% price rise and soon we will have new ATH and BTC won't ever go back below $2000
This is how markets react to a successful scaling outcome, SegWit is now locked in and we are waiting only for its activation which will happen in ~300 blocks.

Have Patience!!  Cheesy
I used to believe in bitcoin. I hope after August 1 bitcoin price will increase but now I am quite afraid. Bitcoin drops pretty fast. That's why I'm suspicious

For newcomers SegWit2X activation does not necessarily mean a hard fork 3 months later. Most of the miners signaling BIP91 are just running a patched version of core, not the btc1 client. We would need a majority of miners to actually switch over to btc1 for the later hard fork to occur.

I just described the logical steps of how things should go without any drawbacks. But yes, it still doesn't mean the hard fork will actually happen, which is exactly why I mentioned that we will likely face another period of fud and uncertainties, prior to the actual hard fork. Till that time the market will continue to experience a heavy load of volatility. We'll see what happens -- there won't be a stage 3 without completing stage 1 and 2 first. Smiley

probably not ! Just make predictions only, because bitcoin has become the main target, it is impossible to speculate with the famous bitcoin and become the main project.
Yes, speculators get a lot of money when they get low prices, and now the price of bitcoin is almost $ 3,000. Fantastic hike, and the highest this year is happening today.

FUD spread that there is a possible chain split but it seems that won't happen.  The support for Bip 91 is enough to lock down the update and secure the chain and prevent the possible chain split. Aside from that some major exchange just release an announcement of not accepting split chain created by UAHF.

Don't panic and just have some patience we will only know it on first august but you have to keep in mind that segwit2x is just a soft fork and not a hardfork so it will not split the network itself. Only few miner may continue mining new bitcoin clone using old bitcoin blockchain after segwit activation.

SegWit2X is this.

Stage 1 -- lock in (currently in progress).
Stage 2 -- activation.
Stage 3 -- hard fork.

I must however point out that the actual hard fork will happen roughly 3 months after activation, so from that point of view, we shouldn't cheer to soon. Step 1 and 2 are the easiest and least risky steps. After that we'll likely face another period of fud and uncertainties. I just want this scaling obstacle to finally get wiped off the table, but as long as the hard fork hasn't kicked in, things are not yet over. On the other hand, the volatility that these uncertainties bring are quite profitable, so I have to nurse myself with the opportunities being offered to me.

How is that? Having BIP 91 locked-in, 2MB hard fork for Segwit2x is expected to happen around November 18.

I think the 2mb hard fork is going to introduce a brand new morass of arguing and FUD. Whatever agreement exists now is likely to be splintered by that.

I believe so. Bitcoincash.org

That's a fork. Not a split. It's self declared new coin.

Don't go scaring the younglings.

I have already exported my private keys from my Blockchain.info wallet, and so I guess it will be easier for me to claim the Bitcoin Cash coins. Anyway, I don't want to waste any opportunity to earn Bitcoin Cash, as I have seen Ethereum Classic giving good returns to those who invested in it.
It's definitely the most interesting thing to emerge in recent times. It's kind of odd how few people are talking about it. It's going to be fascinating to see how it plays out.
Yes, many similar discussion similar, it resulting that our best preparation for facing thru this are backup your wallet on your own computer.
Although whatever happens afterwards, everything is still under your own control.
