It is obvious that history is just repeating itself as regards the price of bitcoin, this is not the first time the price will dropped, recalled when there was clamped down on exchanges by the Chinese government the price bitcoin dropped even below $4k there was panick sales before it rises up again, the same scenerio is repeating itself due to the cancellation of SegWit2x of course fees days to come the price of bitcoin will rise again.

Do you remember when Bitcoin was gone above 3k+$ and then fall back to 1800$ and here we are when its value is more than 7k+$. It will be more than 10k+$ by the end of this year.

This fluctuation is harsh because i heard that miners are going to support bch, but i dont know if it is 100% confirmed or not, or just some news that people made to make some price fluctuate because the coin holder panicking and selling their coin.
For me, this fluctuation is normal, every investment has this, and there is no way bitcoin will always rise, there must be a time that bitcoin will decrease in price and then rise again.
Will it back to 7k? I dont know, but bitcoin price went from 0 usd to 7k usd, do you think it wont rise again? In my opinion, bitcoin has a big chance to do it.
When the price is right for you, i suggest you take your bitcoin to fiat money and just store some that you can afford to lose as bitcoin, because it will make you less worry about losing an assets.

Hi,

i did massive project and got talked into getting paid 100k in BTC when it was at 7,7k rate. By the time i received it on my account it was much lower, and its 5,5k now.

I need to make a decision, should i sell them now to get something or wait and loose most of it or is there a good chance BTC will recover?

I am not a BTC trader so don't know anything about this world but losing that much money makes me cry :/

Or should i change it to some other crypto that expects to be rising soon to recover those losses?

What would you do if you got 100k in 7,7k BTC rate and you have it at 5,5k rate now??

Thanks for helping me deciding this!

MultiBill

P.S: This 100k is my whole years salary:/
Most probably it will go back to $7000 this month btc/usd price as of this moment plays from$6050.49 every second matter in its price..who knows it would reach your target by tomorrow, just keep on waiting and believing that it fluctuates.Dont go panic selling as other holder did, this would cause the dropping value of bitcoin.
It will recover it may not be now or maybe less than a week but i believe it will, just wait and have patience.

Don't worry, i think that at the end of this year the price can grow up and more than $7000
So is better to hold bitcoin, and sell it when price is higher

I'm sure bitcoin will go up, previously rising from $ 4000 to $ 7000 and I see just down now. as usual bitcoin will be correction if too long rise. but I'm sure if bitcoin will be more than the highest price after this, many people know and buy bitcoin. caused higher bitcoin demand, very reasonable if now the bitcoin price drops. but hopefully with dropped bitcoin price it will make altcoin prices can rise...

It's not hard for bitcoin to rise again after the pump for Bitcoin cash. Just be patient and hodl your coins it will be back soon after the dumps of Bitcoin cash everything would be normal like last month. I would recommend buying some Bitcoins due to the low price.

If I were you I would definitely hold back. If btc is 5k5, then you have 2k2 loss for a btc and you own 100k BTC, then the amount is really much. So if you sell it then you will not have the chance to get it back. I think btc prices will rise again but 7k7 is not low so maybe you need to wait a while.

For me nothing can say that bitcoin will increase because we do not hold that situation but most of us expect bitcoin to increase as much as I invest and accumulate my bitcoin so it gets high so be patient.

I think at this point, you have to consider your own risk and affordability. If this 100K is a savings, then you can continue to hold, if this 100K is part of the money needed for life, then now this position has been sold part. It's just my own advice.

Sure it will go back to $7000 in a week or less so don't have to worry about the price because the price fluction in bitcoin is high but the bitcoin will recover from its loss very soon. You mentioned the price is $5500 I already can see a the price reached $ 6000 in very short time from the time you posted this post.

I think you should keep it. When you post this topic, less than an hour ago the btc price is 5k5, but now more than 6k. You can easily see the btc price is very fast. So I advise you ought to keep it, I think the btc price will increase again soon and $ 7k7 is no longer a problem.

I doubt you're telling the truth about your "massive project", OP. Bitcoin was at $7700 only for a short time (less than an hour). $7300-7500 was the highest point it reached for a considerable time. So either you failed miserably negotiating a fair price or you are only trying to increase your post count.

To answer anyway: Yes, I believe it will cross $7000 again. I don't know if its' this year, but I'm sure it will do so until 2019. $5500 could also be only a dip, due to heavy BTC/BCH speculation.

(And this thread belongs into the "Speculation" forum.)

+1 for him not being honest.

As for BTC/BCH, IMHO, this situation will ruin both chain permanently and bring us expected massive correction in BTC value, regardless of winning chain.

Something with as much infrastructure as bitcoin can't just die out completely, I reckon.

Today was certainly a rollercoaster of emotion for all BTC and BCH investors, but I think it's pretty clear that BTC is going to win out and continue to grow. Even since the time of your post BTC is back up to ~$6.3k, and I think it will continue to go back up though perhaps not as quickly as the past couple weeks.
