For 2018, I believe it will survive. Later on, I have some doubts. At the same time, decentralized ICO project has potential, we will wait and see Smiley

There are so many fears and rumors around ICO. I think that ICO format is very convenient for projects as well as for investors. There are too many scam ICOs and I understand what is the point of the governments fear. But I wonder what do you think about ICO in 2018+. Will it survive?

I think ICO fundrising will survive in 2018! I think its good that we will have a few regulations in the future, many people just made fake ICOs and fked up all the money from the people. Stronger projects will get more attention with these regulations, thats good for the market!

I also think that there ICO  is a very convenient form of collecting money, but also I believe that there should be minimal regulation to throw away all the slag from this market

It is a difficult story speaking about ICOs. On the one hand, it is relatively easy to get money from investors, on the other hand, it is based mainly on money making. So the investors may not inform about the aim of the new coin. In longterm conditions, I guess, it will not survive. But this will happen probably in some years, so 2018 may too close.

ICO fund raising is definitely here to stay. I am happy about the regulations that are being set up. Especially in the case with China, we will shortly get news that they are not really banning the crypto currency trading but just the unregulated ICO's as it was draining out money from China.

As long as the CryptoCurrency is alive, ICO will continue to exist - nobody can stop it and there will always be a new idea.

I'd like to agree, but I can't. I think government regulations will finally kill ICO as a method of fundrising(

ICO is like kickstarter, so it'll most likely to survive until many years later, as you see that a project which held kickstarter by raising funds through Initial public offering or such also have percentage to be scam. basically the same as ICO so there's no need to worry, by the way even if ICO becoming obsolete, another method will appear.

Yeah, except the blockchain doesn't eat 20% of everyone's funding like kickstarter.

Serious & logical regulations will definitely limit the number of ICOs....but IMHO; ICO as a concept will Never die....it's highly tied to the Crypto Industry

In my opinion it can't die so fast. Maybe it will transformed for something as here mentioned like KOMODO.
But if you invest in best companies, you can earn very much money, almost impossible in real life to earn so much. So hope it will live in 2018 and 2019.

As long as people decide to launch cryptocurrency related business there will be ico's. People need to realize that only 20% of businesses survive their first year, so it's very risky to invest in an ico. If people stop investing, new ico's will rarely occur but I don't really expect that to happen even though ico's are often associated with scams.

People will be disappointed in projects not released. However, as the ICO Platform matures, we expect that certain wealth will flow into the market. I believe that regulated countries will regret. Denying the structure of a new market slows the growth of the company and loses its competitiveness. In this regard, there is no clear paper on the new framework neither communism nor capitalism at the moment.

The only thing that should change is that the devs can't dissapear with all the funds.
I hope this is what will be achieved.

I think ICO fundraising will survive for the years to come.  It has been around for several decades but in a different name.  The idea is to collect fund from prospecting investors and carry on with the project when the target fund is met.  This is the same as crowdfunding with fiat currency, that promise token or any project benefit for investors.  I do not think that this will be shut down by the government but I believe that ICO will be regulated to give protection to investors.

I don't think it's going anywhere for a long time. Even after China ban it'll continue to go on. I think people should realize by now that crypto is here to stay. Yes, there are some bad ICO but that's what happens in free market where people have more control. Do your research and you won't have to worry.

I am not so sure ico will last long, although the investors are very much to make their ico, but the deception is now also increasing, plus China has also banned trading with this bitcoin
Yes we cannot tell early, but as one of the contributor in some ICO I think it will survive. It will survive because I am for sure there will be a regulations and rules to be implemented soon to prevent scam ICO's.
