I think there is a possibility of loss of intrest, but only temporarily. I believe that the USD value of BTC will be huge in the future, but it will take several years to go, until some big players finally accept BTC as a real means of payment and not only a risky volatile speculation coin.
Maybe but not all investor because we have so many coins that you can trade and earn money but now bitcoin is the best value to cryptocurrencies many investor that want to hold bitcoin for the long term thats why i think not all lose interest to the bitcoin.
A person's interest in knowing bitcoin is sure he will interest in the way that bitcoin gives it, if he is not an obvious interest for what. bitcoin does not force someone to interest or have to use bitcoin, bitcoin just helps people people whose interests work on bitcoin well.
Bitcoin is the parent of Digital currencies in the World, if only Bitcoin is Missing or dead it is sure people will be sad, even lazy again to play Crypto. that's my opinion, and that's probably what will happen to me, I will not care about Crypto anymore if Bitcoin dies.
Someone that invested in December for FOMO is definitely gonna loose interest..but not only that.
I mean think about .com bubble - after they realise it was all a fake what so ever they started to loose interest but nowadays we got Silicon Valley with GAFA inc. that skyrocked the stock market in years.

It's undeniable that when BTC increase its value people are gonna talk everywhere and like we saw at the end of 2017 the top search word in google was "Bitcoin " . But at the level below do not forget that we have BLOCKCHAIN that is really the gamechanger in daylife situation, and many company are gonna use the bitcoin blockchain for many purposes. So at the end peolple who wants to gain easy money will loose interest, those instead that really want to change something will have something to work on.

I think people would pay attention and take a shot to other cryptocurrency. Some may lose interest and leave the crypto world but there are people who will always be interested in cryptocurrency. They would still invest, trade and do different work with other cryptocurrency like altcoin and icos.

In my opinion, there is only one currency that can compete with bitcoin. This is Etheraum. First of all I think that is far to happen, bitcoin getting down. But granting that it happened, I think maybe other people will not lose their interest to cryptocurrency because what will be the cause of bitcoin to die? Maybe another crypto will replace it?

If people die of bitcoin will find another coin because there is nothing permanent in this world. For me people will look for a substitute bitcoin but the constraint I was not able to see it happen because bitcoin also has many supporters and is currently getting stronger for the future.
Bitcoin will no longer die overnight. Maybe there will be other currencies to replace it for many years. But I believe this technology will only become more mature. I am very optimistic about EHT.
If the bitcoin is dead or destroyed, I think people will think repeatedly to invest in other digital currency. Until now bitcoin is also a benchmark or altcoin guideline. Which is the rise and fall of altcoin prices are still affected by bitcoin. Altcoin also will be difficult to replace bitcoin position. If bitcoin is really dead then my last choice is Ethereum.

Since bitcoin was consider as the king of all coin, it is just like a real King that if he died , the rest will fall because of lack of interest to advance to the next level. Altcoin as of now was always been a shadow of bitcoin.
And maybe this will happen if bitcoin died.
There may be people who are not interested after the loss of bitcoin, but there are also people who still believe in alt coin is considered to beat the popularity of bitcoin. But that's all just the beginning of the bitcoin era, should the bitcoin still exist in the long run. So there is still time to learn about bitcoin and use it well.
in some areas maybe they will continue the legacy of bitcoin but for us here in our country bitcoin is the essential cryptocurrency so i guess if bitcoin will come to an end then people here doing bitcoin investment will lose their interest. Fo somehoe bitcoin is the center of the attraction here in this system. However, there.are certaim cryptocurrency also that rumored to be the next or surpass btc. As can be seen in Google Trends, interest has gone down almost at the same rate as the price of Bitcoin. There needs to be a new trigger to get people excited again. It could be an extended bull run, it could be more technical features, an ICO startup that gets into the mainstream, maybe even a 180 degree flip from governments and banks. But if it keeps doing this dreary movement between 9000 and 8000 dollar with nothing else happening, the interest will go down to 0.
It is unstoppable. And has no country boarders, has no agenda, no people who are in charge like a cooperation, and most important no government.
