Religion is a helper in life, in religion there are rules and goals. You just have to do good and obey the rules that exist in religion.

Yes it will, believe me! Allah is my Lord and Savior. It can happen because it happened to me.

It won't. I'm not religious because I wasn't raised in a house that ever practiced it. Religion was a non-issue in my family and I never read the bible, so the whole idea of religion and god just didn't ever make any logical sense to me.

Religion can't save anyone. It's their faith in God. Therefore, only God and yourself can save you. Having faith in God and being part of a religion are two completely different concepts. You can spend your entire life in church but without faith, you're going nowhere in the end.
Religion cannot save anymore than it kills. It's all about the person and their faith in God. People believe and people kill, not religion.

I don't think religion can really save lives. It's just a belief, duh.

Granted, the people I'm thinking of would be amazing humans even without religion, but religion gives them a structure and resources to do some amazing things. One person is an oncology nurse, and her faith gives her a wide support system which helps her disperse the weight on her shoulders.

Another uses church resources to run a Cafe for homeless people - like a real, sit-down joint where they can feel like human beings, being treated with respect.

I'm not religious myself anymore, but it's pretty easy to see how, when done well, religion can provide a framework to teach compassion, caring for the community (and thus the world at large), etc, to younger members of the community. When I was in school, youth group leaders were removed enough from our parents that it was sometimes easier to connect with them and confide in them. They were adults who both the kids and their parents could trust to give positive advice. They encouraged us to live with compassion and to think about how our actions affected others - to reach out to bullied kids, how to handle conflicts in a positive way, etc. Sure, there was also some stuff I disagree with - abstinence only, an unwillingness to discuss LBGTQ+ issues (the Episcopalian church is pretty progressive, but in the 90s they struggled with it - the prevailing thought was, "It's totally cool you're gay, just maybe don't talk about it). But overall, I think it would be nice if non-religious teens had groups like this.

Religion can't save, you have to save yourself through your religion.
