Media is just doing their usual stuff of paid reviews and shilling. Most of the media are just the speaker of some business or individuals and if you are talking about social media, here's where popular people make paid opinions and whales try to pump or dump a coin. Media has indeed given a rapid acknowledgement of crypto around the world but they have not much to offer to crypto development and adoption after this.

Think of this, these days cryptocurrency price movement (btc & other altcoins) is highly affected and dependent on the media. People now follow up closely with information around the world to know when to buy and dump a coin, as a result a simple occurrence because of the media might just cause a cryptocurrency value to go up or to come down.

That's always been the case, it's not that we have seen first hand the effects of crypto media in our ecosystem. You can compare it to 2017 as well, where crypto media is worst, they even writes something without verifying everything. So for me the effect is just the say, if we see good news then the price will go up, and vice-versa.

Do you think the collapse of the media (Say a media blackout) can trigger the collapse of the value of cryptocurrencies?

No. The price is not reliant to media instead, still base on the traders buying/sell crypto 24x7.

Far from collapsing in my opinion . The future of finance lies within the power of blockchain and programmable smart contracts. But just like media it will always be there. Sometimes low other times high so enjoy the ride.

I don't think it can trigger the collapse of crypto. Even since bitcoin being introduced by satoshi nakamoto and there have been bunch of medias already collapse and that didn't give any impact to the value of crpto.
The media is only playing to create FOMO and FUD to the crypto. That can affect the price of crypto by introducing bad or good news but it will never make crypto to be collapse.
it will never happen dude and you should not believe such rumour.

No. Crypto was flourishing even without the media and with a little help of them, crypto is already mainstream and crypto is in no way dependent on media. Media lately has been involved the same way they are involved in stock markets, creating FUDs and FOMOs. But crypto is totally dependent on internet, more than the media itself. It's internet whose collapse may lead to collapse of cryptocurrency.

I do not think that is because of the media. The crypto market will go up and down with or without media. But I admitted that media gives part to the market, such as if someone like Elon says something, that can make the price jump high or low. If the media is collapse, the crypto market will still exist and will not collapse because the crypto market will not just depend on the media. Media is just something to promote and people use the media to help them to gain more investor and supports.

Can you classify this media? Mainstream or social? A mainstream media blackout would surely have an impact but I don't think it would be that big because there's still social media which is more powerful now. If you're going to include social media blackout, then that's going to be tough to do. That might take shutting down the whole internet.

The rise and fall of currency prices are often based on consensus,
However, a lot of information comes from news on various networks. Once negative news appears, the price of the currency will definitely fall in a short period of time.
I think the media is still an important means of publicity in the currency circle.
