The US dollar has been dictating most of the trades world wide from crude oil to anything.  Is there a possibility that it will dominate in the trading of Bitcoin?
im pretty sure. im in Canada right now and instead of using CAD conversion rates when trading bitcoin online i always end up using the USD conversion rates. i guess because its more standard it dominates over other currencies.

USD's already dominating bitcoin trading, isn't it? My statistics say that most exchanges from fiat to BTC ( and vice versa ) are between USD and bitcoin. Also, most organizations that accept bitcoin but calculates in fiat show their prices in USD. I think, the fiat world will remain dominated by USD so bitcoin trading that includes fiat will be dominated by USD too.

Bitcoin and dollar both are different currencies and both are in competition will each other and we can see that bitcoin is accepted worldwide for their uses and everyone like bitcoin and bitcoin is not from any specific country but is an international currency so I think bitcoin will not be dominated by any other currency but it will dominate other trades.

BTC-E had zero fees for an entire month very recently, but it didn't do much with the BTC volume.

for one month only. and have you looked into getting usd on there? you have to sign up with some weird third party transfer service, get verified with them and then pay an excessive fee to get your money sent. it might take a week or two. that's a long way from doing an ach or sepa transfer that sometimes arrives the same day and is often free.

yes in present time it must dominate bitcoin because US Dollar is much stable and almost use in all over the world, while bitcoin is a quite new currency and need more time to develop and become more popular,

Hold on, what`s the matter in worrying about USD dominating BTC trading, when USD de-facto dominates (half) the world trade anyway?
So yes, either directly or not the whole BTC community all over the world is affected by USD (I tell you that as an owner of RUR in my wallet)

The US Dollar dominates the Bitcoin trading for some time right now and I think that they are going to dominate it for years to come.
The other currencies are never going to keep up with the trading.

Dollar is already dominate in trading with bitcoins and some other coins also. I doubt situation will change, Americans trade mostly and everything is spinning around them. They arranged everything to be connected with dollars, dollars is main currency for many things.

Us dollar is dominating everything  here  in marketplace hence  it been used  majority and  being  paired  by most popular currencies  all over the  world and for bitcoin   usd  would surely  dominate it.

the marketplace here is very small. if you purely look at the trading volumes, then china is a real bomb. btc/cny dominates the trading volumes like there is no tomorrow.

these are the number of coins traded in the last 24 hours per currency.

usd ~ 20,000btc
eur ~ 6400btc
cny ~ 1,090,000btc

and yes, i know that chinese exchanges have zero fees which might inflate their volumes considerably. let's give their volume a cut of 90%. then still they are by far in front of all other exchanges.
that's right the chinese market are running so fast that there's so many transaction within a seconds while the USD to BTC marketplace just seems normal as usual,USD/BTC is nothing compared to CNY/BTC and some of traders that i know even prefer lurking on chinese market

That can only be possible if bitcoin gets usable all over the world and every country doing trades with each other would legalize it and would be using it within their countries, then maybe those two bitcoinic countries do trades in bitcoins in place of dollars or any other currency, otherwise the trend will go on.

For some reason it is at the top and it will stay there for some time.

Yeah the US Dollar is already dominating the Bitcoin trading and I do not believe that it is going to change anytime soon now.
Why the US Dollar is one the that is dominating is something that I also do not know.
Dollars are the main currencie worlwide, all transactions export and import are based on the dollar rating, dont know why they keep that way, as China and others countries wich has low cost on the production make the transactions considering dollar and not their own currencie.
Anyway the bitcoin and almost all currencies are traded against dollar, eur/btc has low volume if we compare them.
Everything is decided as per the US dollar and even when we trade in bitcoins, we mainly check the US price and the other currencies follow it. Since USA has the best economy and bitcoins aren't the currency of any country, the comparison holds no validity and hence no competition. If the dollar falls, it instead has an effect on bitcoin prices.

Threads created with USD involved as always. That says it all. It is really a strong currency for a lot of people know it. It is way too popular not to dominate any currency. I believe it can, the way people trusted it is just so much it is like they are being manipulated.

I would definitely consider the Japanese Yen and Chinese Yuan big contenders for trading volume online, but I think a majority of money is still traded back and forth between USD and BTC.

come on. we all know the score with Chinese exchanges and some of the Japanese exchanges are zero fee too. if there was a zero fee usd exchange it would totally annihilate them in terms of volume.

BTC-E had zero fees for an entire month very recently, but it didn't do much with the BTC volume. However, the altcoin markets there had seen massive amounts of volume nearly on a daily basis. NMC, PPC, NVC, they were used by whales to buy and sell into their own walls to generate insane volumes. But in general, when USD exchanges also work with zero fees, then the volumes will surely increase, but I don't think it's enough to come even close to the Chinese volumes.
