The general sentiment of the market is getting very positive on Bitcoin as it is experiencing some upward movement. A lot of people are expecting that Bitcoin will soon breach the $6,000 level and can possibly go beyond that level in the coming weeks and months...and there are those already predicting of $8,000 or even $10,000 before 2019 ends. I know this is just another speculative notions but this can be reflective of the ongoing confidence the market has on the King of Cryptos.

With this backdrop in mind, will you advise a newbie to bitcoin to enter at this stage so he can be able to ride the coming "boom" or will you tell him to wait some more until the market is dipping?

It is never too late to enter bitcoins. Even now, it might be a high time to enter into bitcoins as we can see high volatility and price gap in-between 24 hours gap which might really seem much attractive for the newbies. Newbies would actually enter the bitcoin markets in these situation with greed in their mind and expecting the bull markets to arrive as soon as they buy their first coin.

This might not give them profits but just anxiety to lose their funds. It might be good if newbies could enter the market where they need to hold on the coins for atleast 1-2 months to gain any profits. Current markets might not be profitable for newbies who would use less brain and would more believe on the FUD's.

I always advise people to research about BTC and make your own decisions, it's up to each person what they will do with money
There is a lot of hisk to invest on BTC or every coin in the market

I used to help my brothers to enter on cryptos, but I'm the one who stay strong, even in bear times

In my personal opinion newbies can purchase bitcoins anytime they wish to, all they need to do is buy in dips and over a period of time. In the end I can only guide them about the risks, and gains they’ll get if they hold their coins but should they purchase bitcoins this decision is best left to them.

I will advise to newbie but wise man who will wait and hold for long term, few mates panic when dump spot in market and sell.
When market goes up they regret. I just advised my friend when BTC at ATH and now he always poke me about his loss.
If newbie ready to loss then i will advise to invest on bitcoin and eth because loss/gain part of the crypto market even every business field.

No, I will not advise anyone to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin is way too volatile for most people, and they WILL sell during the lows and probably buy during rallies. I learned my lesson seeing how people who claimed to be dedicated sold so easily during the bear market. This market is designed for only the toughest investors.
You might never know how tough the newbie can become in the future, I can advice any body who want to invest in bitcoin to buy at any time because no body no what will happen in the second minutes from that time. But the truth is it advisable to buy when the price is low because you tend to make gain when the price rise again.

yes I agree with you, no one knows what will happen later, but for a beginner I would suggest learning first about bitcoin before making an investment, and when you're sure bitcoin will be of high value of course whenever is the right time to buy bitcoin.  Smiley

I stand with Ukraine.
I always advise newbies to at least learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies
people I talk to usually heard about bitcoin and want to learn more about it
or they have no choice other than hear me talk about it given the first opportunity  Grin
in any case , I spread awareness as much as I can and I say: buy and HODL
long term bitcoin investment can turn to  be huge in 5-10 years time
even if you bought at 5000 and sell at 10.000 in a couple of years , 50% return per year is something you will never get anywhere else

That's a 100% return, actually Smiley, but I agree with you in general. Among the promising high return investments, Bitcoin is one of the safest kinds. Probably, investing in Bitcoin will never be as safe as putting your money in the Swiss National Bank, but the interest rate in the Swiss National Bank is -0.75 percent. And yes, that's a minus sign in front of the 0.75! The interest rate is negative there.

NO!
I think consulting others to invest in bitcoin or crypto at this time or at any time is quite dangerous. Not because it will seriously devalue will become dangerous, but suggesting others to enter the market but does not suggest they learn about it first is a very dangerous thing. Because when they invest in the market, if they lose, they will take the excuse of being "cheated" so they lose money and if they are profitable, it is unlikely we will be thanked.
The best way is to suggest that newbies learn about Blockchain first and then learn about Crypto. After a while of learning (with your help), they are the ones who make the decision to invest or not.

I think it's never too early and never too late to start practicing Bitcoin. This is a popular field of activity now and anyone can try their hand at it. I see no reason not to do it Wink
They need Senior for teaching anything about Bitcoin. Don't left them newbie alone or self do anything here around crypto world. Such of thing, Newbie can't do safe them wallet or how to sending fund, They only know keep balance on exchange and Trading without knowledge. So here they have to learn about anything.
However one teach them, self learning is the best through which one can get the best learning about anything. Bitcoin too is no exception and we've got more platforms and sources available to learn more about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. One can explain the risks and let the new user get into bitcoin usage while the further learning happens on experimenting.

You can make investment in Bitcoin, at any point of time. The only condition is that you should hold on to your investemnt for at least 3 years. In case you can't wait for this long, and you want to become a billionaire overnight, then Bitcoin is not going to work for you. In such cases, you need to go for HYIPs and pyramid schemes.

I have been tracking the returns from Bitcoin ever since 2012. The only instance of someone losing money in Bitcoin is if he listens to the FUD and does panic selling. And unlike other assets, there is a lot of FUD and negative propaganda associated with Bitcoin.

That said, I can't say the same about altcoins (perhaps with the exception of Ethereum). In case you want to make investments in ETH, just remember that they can be more volatile than BTC. So invest amounts which you can afford to lose.

if bitcoin wants to boom like before then bitcoin must be able to make other countries legalize transactions using bitcoin after that multiply the online shop that provides bitcoin payments in the two ways above I am sure bitcoin will rise as fast as it used to

In my opinion, if they really want to invest in crypto I will tell them how risky it is by sharing my experience when I'm new to it.  They must know investing here is not always sure of profit and always have the risk of it.  However, I will not stop them from investing but will help and teach them.

Yeah, why not! Actually only a very few percentage of the world's total population knows or have heard about crypto and hence our job isn't yet over. Not at all. We need to spread the jews like wildfire!.

They certainly are, I'm sure now they smarter and already understand bitcoin, and don't need to give more lessons. many can actually determine when to buy and hold for the time that will be considered profitable. all because they are diligent and willing to learn, only a few still ask questions that sometimes already explain a lot.

I don't think newbies have the heart to withstand the diappointment that the volatile crypto market brings. I would not advise anybody actually to invest into bitcoin i would teach you about how you can make money through cryptocurrency investments so that they can make their own research about it and invest if they want to.
Teaching newbie how to make money through crypto and advice them to enter Bitcoin now which the OP was actually the samething because there are the best time to enter and exit the market and this current market is the best time to invest into crypto which they will understand once giving tips.
