Though you guys both have a good point here, but my concern is if the profit is to be shared equally, why not they all gamble personally on their respective casinos? Because whether the betting amount is been done collectively or individually, the profits is always likely to be the same. So if I was to be consulted, I would have suggested that they do the research and analyse on games to be played together, while they gamble individually, in other to avoid scenarios whereby someone will run away with the winning ticket.
I also agree with this. I think for the sake of the friendship staying intact and having no problems at all, all the friends should make their own bets with whatever amount they want and on whatever team they feel will win, and then they all sit together to watch the game. That would make it more fun because there wouldn't be any arguments or anything about the money or the profits or anything like that.
If I and my friends were to make bets together on a game, I would suggest this way because I feel this will make it better and more understandable. Sometimes even the closest friends can have problems when it comes to money matters, so it's better to keep financial things to yourself and only have fun together.

So, just this morning, a close friend of mine approached me while we were in a small meeting with the power holding company that supplies electricity in my street( or rather, small community).
Knowing I usually bet on sports from time to time, he began discussing about sports events with me mostly centered on the current Euro 2024, discussion was interesting as i always enjoy discussions around football and all the arguments that goes with it 😁.
Along the line, he asked if I will be willing to join a group betting, I asked what group betting was, he told me it's just a group of guys like myself, coming together to join an agreed amount together to bet on chosen sports games, and if the bet wins, we take out the money with the profit and share it equally amongst ourselves.
It was an interesting idea to be honest, but I really was wondering if it was the right thing to do, remembering one incident that happened last year where two friends put money together in a bet, bet won, amount was really huge, the other stole the ticket ran away and cashed the entire money from a very far place, leaving the other guy with nothing.

It would be very interesting if your friends are like-minded and well informed in that particular sport for instance in soccer betting you intended to gamble on, in soccer bet matches can be collectively analyzed with individual or participants input before picking the final games and if possible accumulate the odds thereafter place the bet, I believe it would be fun doing it after all money earned would be shared equally while if bet is lost everyone would equally share the losses thus I don't think it's a bad idea to put money together to bet or gamble, however remember to also gamble on the amount of money you can afford to lose.
I bet on boxing with my friends, although we rarely do it, but we gather a whole community on this occasion since our favorite athlete performs 1-2 times a year and for us it’s a whole event and we all watch the fight together. I don't really involve myself in such group betting with either friends or family cause basically it's not like it's a bad idea but the fact that I can't trust anyone with money except I personally give such persons that money. So I won't be comfortable doing such group betting on sports I rather do it on my own.

Something to reminds you in terms of valuing your friendship, if it's not that huge it can push as entertaiment but most of the time when the amount of money is huge there's are cases that it tempts a person to turn down the freindship and take the money, it's better to seperately do your gambling and just share the ideas or just comes out with the same pick with seperate or own tickets.

yes, problems like big money often ruin our friendships or colleagues at work. betting with friends by accepting advice and discussions from them is fun. it's like we're chatting with people with the same hobby. small bets won't affect the fun. but with big money of course it's risky.

Yes, sure we can playing gambling with our friend using small money to enjoy the moment. But we must be able to say it is enough to playing gambling for some time and not accept their invitation if they ask us to keep playing gambling. I agree with your opinion. We can gamble with friends, but we should not bet very large amounts. And we should not bet on irrelevant things. More importantly, gambling should never become an addiction.
When we friends get together we play cards. And there is occasional gambling. We bet but of course it doesn't mean big amount. The amount we spend is the amount we can afford to spend, or the amount we won't incur any major losses. Also, another important thing is that we don't take money home. We give parties or tours with this money. So there is never any quarrel between our friends over gambling. Even if one loses money he is happy.
