I think the hole point of this is that we don't need all 7 + billion on planet earth to get involved at once we just need to raise awareness internationally to the level that we have all done our bit to raise bitcoin to many more users, then the next time one of these projects start up we will have that extra few people to help in the efforts who will show more people what this awesome technology is about and then again and again. By the time it builds some more people around the world may have developed enough tech to have the devices to also join in. We all join together then anything is possible if we all just sit around hoping for it and leaving it to someone else it will never happen. Count me in op well done..

Yes!  I'm not actually worried about having every single person in the world use Bitcoin.  That would be great, but if a person doesn't have a computer or access, then there isn't much we can do about that.  But the idea is that it gives people a reason to give Bitcoin a try.  It's really just a publicity campaign that gives people an excuse to give Bitcoin a try.

After the event, there should be more people with Bitcoins than there were before, hopefully millions more, but even a few thousand more would be a good thing.

great idea. we as community can make the difference and make more non tech people aware of bitcoin and its benefits.
i'm sure if they know what it is and why it is better than traditional payment options they will definitely set a first step towards using bitcoin.

What if everyone in the world used Bitcoin for a day?

I can buy some bitcoin on the day, I can buy a gift card on the day, but I can't use bitcoin for a day. Bitcoin day is a nice idea. Rises awareness of Bitcoin to complete newbies. Is there anything organised already?

I don't see how we're going to get seven billion people to use bitcoin one day. What about all the people without an internet connection or those who can't afford devices to obtain a wallet and send/receive btc? I can imagine something where a lot of people could wear bitcoin related apparel to boost the bitcoin awareness. You could try get shirts sponsored and have a public get together where everybody could be wearing something related to bitcoin. Maybe something like a mask would do like the Anonymous marches and conventions.

people without internet access, will be connected when google "loon for all" project will be ready, but i'm afraid this won't be enough to make everyone to use bitcoin even for one day, many still don't like the fact that early adopters were lucky, and they must buy from them

Loon won't be available worldwide and if the is going to be, it won't be very soon. That still doesn't solve the problem with the people without devices. I still think an awareness convention would do well.

We already have bitcoin pizza day and bitcoin black Friday. Those days suit people who already use bitcoin and might encourage a few newbies to start. International bitcoin day might work if more people start using bitcoin, but IMO not enough use it right now to expect everyone to use it for a day.
Bitcoin pizza day isn't celebrated as much as we would think it is actually. There's about 200 odd people who actually show an interest.

it would be good idea for a group of people to be wearing the same bitcoin clothing, I think this is one way to promote it
first do what the no pants days did.  Start in NYC and travel with groups  that are wearing bitcoin shirts, and then on the back of there shirt say this " Did you get your's Yet?

I'll say it again, create a thunderclap campaign. Smiley

I have applied and now am waiting for the campaigns approval.  I guess it takes three days.  I'll let you know, and thanks again for the suggestion.
