Trying it now under Virtual Box now as "win 8.1 x64". I figure that's the closest to 10.
Win8 does have some improvements over win7. Just not in the UI arena.

One of my buddies installed it fine in virtualbox. For vmware, I used windows 8 64 bit (for 64 bit windows 10). Any chance you just hit windows 8 rather than 64 bit?
I chose "Other OS (64 bit)". Didn't work. I also tried Windows 8.1 64 bit - that got a bit further but then failed as well.
So, I've never really been a Microsoft fanboy or anything. I mean, fuck, I absolutely hated Windows 8/8.1. I mean, literally never used either OS...

I downloaded the preview today but couldn't get it to work in my Oracle Virtualbox.
