Why would you want to buy ETF when you can buy real bitcoins directly?

If you're waiting for the Winklevoss ETF, you're wasting your time. It won't do jack for bitcoin price. The twins are doing us a favor by prolonging the process, hopefully it will be denied or die a slow death.

If this has happened it may have more effect on btc price rise than the impending  halving....

it would have already because of insider-trading. i don´t think it is happening anytime soon.

There is already a Bitcoin ETF....'GBTC' is the symbol. Other than that, I don't know much about it, except that is a low volume scammy p.o.s, that for some inexplicable reason, trades at massive premiums to the actual Bitcoins which are supposed to be backing it...
Won't buy into this fake hedge type cover.
I will jump on the real bitcoin etf when it is available. Will keep my eyes peeled for it as it will be limited, so first come first serve. As most things that are of true value in this economic "get real or go bust" world we live in.  Cheesy

yup. if this doesn't inspire more people to come in then i'll be amazed. it removes alot of the stuff that people worry about.

Are there ETFs for other currencies? like USD or Euro? Or are ETFs only useful for Chuck E Cheese-grade coins?

Also, would an ETF ETF (ETF indexing performance of all ETFs) track its own performance, or is that asking for trouble?

gbtc is very different. it's linked to bitcoin but the price is for shares in the trust, not bitcoin itself and that's why the price has diverged. the winklevoss etf won't do that.

ok in this case, will be the same that investing buying bitcoin, but with a financial instrument. This could be interesting for public investors.

all i can see is an amendment to their application. nothing else has happened. i think they've done it four or five times before. nothing to see here yet but at least it shows they're still quietly working on it.
