She got busted its because she use it in a wrong way.Bitcoin for me is not illegal as long as you earn and use it in a good way.Even if she send fiat to ISIS she will get busted as well.ISIS is really a dangerous so goverment will monitor all the transactions that will connect to ISIS and they will all busted once caught.

I wonder how people get busted for using Bitcoin when it is supposed to have anonymity? Anyway, still good that a supporter was busted!

As someone else has said, Bitcoin is not completely anonymous.

The woman had to have gotten the coins from somewhere, maybe even an exchange. She likely had the same assumption as you, that Bitcoin was completely anonymous, and the numbers reflected on transactions couldn't be traced back to her. I'm also sure that some intelligence agencies are monitoring ISIS Bitcoin addresses that pop up so they could go after their sympathizers, and it worked in this case. Once you have two end points like that, it shouldn't be hard for anyone to track you.

I'm glad she got busted because it dispels the notion that Bitcoin is perfect for terrorism. Also, anyone who supports ISIS is an idiot who deserves to be secluded from society.

What kind of God are they representing? Of course that it is all a fairy tale.
You know damn well what god they represent, and that particular cult is well-represented on bitcointalk too.  People who believe in all these superstitions are delusional, to say the least.  I've recently been condemned by allah for tagging shitposters, and I'm sure I'm destined to burn in whatever hell these posters think exists for people who actually care about the quality of posts on bitcointalk.

*Ahem*

The media will likely blow this one out of proportion, since bitcoin has been big news as of late--but whether ISIS uses bitcoin or bricks of gold, it doesn't matter.  Dollar bills aren't tainted goods because they've been rolled up to sniff cocaine with, are they?  A lot of things have been used for bad purposes, but the provenance of a given form of money doesn't matter to most rational people, does it?

I wonder how people get busted for using Bitcoin when it is supposed to have anonymity? Anyway, still good that a supporter was busted!
Ohhhh...it doesn't have nearly the amount of anonymity that some folks claim.  There's no more Silk Road, is there.

This goes into that argument between the balance of security and privacy. I think we can all agree that privacy is good, but reasonable security is necessary. Its hard for the Govt to stop people from sending BTC. However, this kind of a bust at least tries to discourage it. I say its better for anonymity because their are less ISIS supporters than good people out there.

I don't care what any of you hooligans say about the government, but ISIS is on another level of evil and misguidance.
Most anti government regimes that succeed are almost always WORSE than the government they overthrew.

And who really cares about them? If someone sends donations to that group, those people really need to be busted, DOESN'T MATTER WHAT.

What kind of God are they representing? Of course that it is all a fairy tale.
