I haven't been following WPL as I feel the format for the first season looks more like one sided. With only 5 teams in the first season there is little to no option for a team that had a difficult beginning will be able to secure its place in the playoff. Another reason is the pathetic performance of Indian player. I won't deny some players have been at par with the international players but most Indian girls lack the ability to field, bowl and bat like the Australian or English players. Until that part is sorted out I don't think cricket fans in India would take WPL seriously.

I think it's high time that BCCI should employ foreign coach to train the women Indian team and so should the WPL franchise. Veteran Indian women players were not that good until Mithali Raj came and helped women cricket get the popularity that was not there before her. If BCCI wants WPL and the women team to be the number one then they should start investing money on women cricket like they did after IPL on men's cricket.
