Birth rates are not evenly distributed throughout the world and many countries are actually experiencing birth shortages such as Japan and Korea and in the next few years, it is predicted that these countries will have a shortage of young people because the majority in their countries at this time are old people.  birth control is not bad now but will be bad in the future.

We have to admit this fact that the world population is increasing at alarmingly rate and in many countries its taken as fun to have babies. Too much population is not good for the planet, not for individual countries. Also more kids you have in your family, it gets difficult to bring them up with limited salaries. This is very serious problem and need immediate attention of our society before it gets too late.

Birth control to reduce population isn't at all necessary at this stage. If you took all the material of all the people in the world, you could easily fit it inside of two cubic miles. The earth has many millions of cubic miles to it. And the surface of the earth has millions of square miles to it.

What about food? Food has to do with new techniques and training. For example. Vertical farming is producing way more food than traditional farming - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=vertical+farming+in+texas.

Besides, the oceans are ripe for living on their surfaces. Check out Seasteading - https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=seasteading&ia=web.

The only problem of overpopulation is governments. Governments lose control when there are too many people to control. They don't like this, so they push the idea that there is a population problem. And all their sweet and innocent, gullible citizens pick up the idea and parrot it for them.

Birth control is becoming a necessity. India and China need to take birth control more serious so we the world population can be regulated and controlled. With the present population in the hub of Asian countries my concern is to reduce control birth rate to avoid having an over populated society.

That is the current worldwide reality that our planet is dealing with.
Our leaders need to ensure sustainability in efforts to provide food and water as well as health care, especially for the elderly. Humanity multiplies algebraically over comparatively short times, as seen by fertility rates. On the other side, mortality rates are quite low despite a recent epidemic.
It is undeniable that people today live far longer than they did 100 years ago. In this regard, the phenomena of people living to 100 or older may be on the rise.

After 9-10 billion there is point of no return. It will go upwards parabolic. You may even call it ballistic.

We need to do something about this or else it is not going to be pretty. Bill Gates was working on this by improving our reproductive health with the vaccines but he has so little time left.

We need those vaccines more than ever now and we need them now.

Without getting a vax shot people shouldn’t even leave their homes. The world leaders should enforce vaccination.

We have already seen it with the mrna shots. They are safe and effective.

But I think that they have the word wrong. It's kinda like racism. After all, who is having the babies? Women are... even though some men claim they could. So it should be momulation, not population. Grin

Cool
Okay i see your point but i think having babies all involves a procedure that is well organized and arrange between the both gender because a woman cant just get pregnant and give birth to a baby without a man first implantating the seeds and getting the woman pregnant.
So babies are produced by both man and woman

I am not surprise that the world population has increased to that level and the much of it in Asian countries. The countries have birth rate that is increasing. China now is reducing their rate of human population by the birth control policy and that is what other country that is having such kind of growth to follow. India has the second large population of the world but they are having birth control rate. With the economic and inflation rate in the world with 8 billion people will go into poverty in the years to come.

The case of Africa is a very pathetic one. Africa has abundant resources which means they also need people to tap these resources. But the problem of Africa is not a high population but a bad and corrupt government. If Africa can educate and empower its population, it would become developed. Some people argue that Africans give birth to children they can fend for. But the truth is that if Africans get the assistance citizens of developed nations get from their government basic needs and education wouldn't be a problem for their children. African have always been populated and self-sufficient. But the current set of leaders she has now are specialists in looting and stashing funds in Western banks.
The main reason I support birth control is to ensure a safe environment. In order for proper education to be provided, a set number of students to be educated and the period of the education must be known. However, the birth rate in some parts of Africa is too high. The annoying part is that the people who give birth uncontrollably are people with insufficient resources to care for the children they burn.

Just think how bad it will get when a pill is developed that can allow people to live several hundred years. So far there are two medical things that researchers have found out that show that such a pill can be on the way in the near future:
1. That life is shortened when the DNA becomes shorter through cell division;
2. That telomeres become inactive, which allows the DNA in chromosome strands to unravel, causing the chromosome to become unable to divide, thereby causing its death.

Right now you can get a product called TA-65, which comes from the astragulus plant, that activates the telomerase enzyme, which activates telomeres, which stops aging... if taken in enough quantity. However, the price is about $600 for a 3-month supply. It's high because of a monopoly on the particular formula, and because no other product comes close in doing the job.

So, think about when the population doubles to 16 billion because nobody dies.

People will still grow over time, this solution is not for one person, but all people in the world should react to this. Also, resources are getting lower and lower, and as we can see, farmers are saying that the demand for food is too huge that they can't now cater to it. I know the government is already implementing things to slow the growth of the population, such as family planning and using contraceptives, and providing sex education to all people or students so that they are aware of the current issues in the world. Still, all of us should act on this to make this work.

I don't know why people will say that soon when the world is over populated than this, the natural resources will not be enough to carter for the population and might cause low living standard or might lead to abject poverty. One factor that helps to decrease population is war,the ongoing war is decreasing the world population because different countries are involved in the war.

We were all born into the world to meet our parents managing and controlling these natural resources and there is still more which we can still leave for our grand children. God created the world and made all the natural resources that we are benefiting from. God knows that the resources on earth is enough to take care of more than 30 billion people in  uncountable years,so why are we panicking. He has put us on the best planet which the garden of Eden is on,this garden of Eden means abundant natural resources but this time we must go in search for them.

It is only God that can end this world and it is only when the world comes to an end that there will be no more natural resources because God made us in his own image and likeness, therefore it is God responsibility to take care of us through these natural resources because we don't even know how these resources came about.

I think this number will accelerate over a short period of time in the future. The world has moved from a billion people to 8 billion in a record time compared to all periods in human history. And with the increasing progress in the technological and medical field, the death rates are going to decrease, and thus a further increase in the population.
Few countries have the largest proportion of people while many countries cannot deal with the aging of the population.

^^^ Right! Smaller population is easier to control by the elite. But why worry about population? By the time there is standing room only, science will have figured out ways to terraform other planets, so we can move there. But if they don't, the population will adjust itself automatically, the strong eating the weak.

There is need to control world population since more people means we need more resources, while the resources available on earth are not unlimited.

Why? Earth has plenty of resources. World population will stabilize itself eventually as resources allow naturally so there isn't a need to step in. China tried the one-child policy already and it was rather dystopian for the government to dictate how many children people could have. "Population control" is a concept pushed by elites who view people below them as malignant tumors to Earth. Also pushed by radical environmentalist who believe every human is a pollutant to the environment.

All past projections were wrong.

World's Homo Sapiens population is doubling EVERY 70 years or so.

There is absolutely no reason to assume that this doubling time will change anytime soon;
with advancements in medicine and technology, I expect this trend to accelerate.

We have not reached our carrying capacity.

The resources will be scarce and the standard of living will decrease for new generations to come, but
humans will proudly reproduce until we will reach an irreversible die-off, probably due to the loss of
the ozone layer.

I don't see why world leaders are all trying to control the world population; it makes no sense to me from the beginning to the end. A world that already has enough resources to sustain us all. They should focus on making these natural resources available to citizens rather than on controlling the birth rate, which, in my opinion, is impossible. You can't stop people from marrying and having children; the purpose of marriage is to procreate, and you just want to stop that. Even if the world's population doubles, we'll all survive if our leaders do the right things.

What can be expected in a country where the leaders embezzle large sums of money and the majority of the population lives below the poverty line? A country where all of its citizens can receive free education but are still denied their fundamental right to all amenities due to corruption. If the government is unable to assist in providing all of this, it is best individuals limit their births rate to what they can provide and not government enforcing it on any individual. However, the fact is that the larger a country's population, the more manpower it can obtain if used properly.

Something doesn't works here. Remember all these conspiracy theories that Covid was made to reduce World population. Lather when vaccines against Covid were made, we got same conspiracy theories that vaccines were created to kill people. But still, population of of World continue to grow despite these things.
Now seriously, it's sad. It takes about 11-13 years to World population to grow by 1 billion. But it's nothing positive when huge part of these people living in bad conditions and birth rate in poor countries isn't controlled at all.

While population is increasing with exponential rate there are counties where birth rate is still very low  like South Korea 0.9 child per women. https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/total-fertility-rate
It's not just South Korea. It's same thing in most of developped countries like Japan, whole Europe and North America, Australia. Birth rate there is between 1-1.5. Such numbers means that population there is getting older there and eventually declining.

Current projections speak of a population increase reaching the 11 billion mark and then stabilising or even declining. However those predictions, since Maltus spoke a about the positive checks in population, have usually failed. The resources required to sustain population are subject like everything else to technological advances, and that could include for example the de-salinization of water or better crop growing techniques.
