Bitcoin is not valued in dollars.

I buy and sell bitcoins using euro. I trade those euro to kroner when I cash out. The only use of the dollar for me is as a reference, in order to ease communication with people from a certain part of the world.

The value of bitcoin is measured in shit you can trade them for. Once upon a time you could trade 10000 bitcoins for a pizza. Today I could trade five of them for a boat. Fiat is just how we talk about value, but that does not mean that bitcoin is in any way tied to fiat.

But, but... I thought Bitcoin was measured in Canadian dollars.  Smiley Wink Cheesy Grin Cool

Indeed it's what you can trade them for that determines the value of bitcoins, be it pizzas, boats, EUR, USD or terahashes of mining ASICs.

Perhaps we should just value them in bitcoins. One April 2017 bitcoin is worth 25 March 2013 bitcoins.  Tongue

While reading the news I experienced a sudden chill running down my spine, it stated that USA ships are moving towards North Korea and North Korea has warned any aggression on USA part and they shall wipe out USA, indirectly hinting at nuking them. In the past we could have ignored this news, and moved on but look at the two leaders who have the ultimate power to cause destruction and neither of them will back down. If this isn't worst the mystic had predicted 13th May 2017 the day world War III would begin, though she's got few things wrong and let's hope she got this wrong to. So worst case scenario war breaks out, what will happen to Bitcoins, as they are valued in $?

I think we should ask the mystic what the price of bitcoin will be when ww3 happens.  Cheesy

Seriously, I think if ww3 breaks, bitcoin's price does not matter anymore. I will be more concern saving my life than the price of bitcoin. And if ever we survive the nuclear bombing, we will be back to barter trade.

Well, what are the allies of North Korea? this should be the first question to make yourself. In order for a world war to happen, North Korea would need to have allies and I can't think of a single one.
Russia and China may not be USA's best friend but I doubt they are stupid enough to ally with North Korea. Other than those 2 I can't see any realistic allies and those two aren't realistic by themselves.
I also think NK has no actual long distance nukes, it's all a fraud. Those guys are broke.
That is exactly what is going to happen, since North Korea does not have any friendly allies i do not think anyone would bother taking sides, but US has to consider the words of Russia and China if not it might be a disaster ,you can only speculate whether North Korea has long distance missiles or not unless they test the waters.

While reading the news I experienced a sudden chill running down my spine,
Blatant emotional manipulation intended to make the readers feel a certain way, so as to bias them to agree with you.

I get that people do this all the time without even thinking about it, and maybe that is the case here. Let's just say it is and that no malice was intended. That does not change what it is. Leave that shit at the door and focus on the facts.

the two leaders who have the ultimate power to cause destruction
No. The norks do not have the ultimate power to do anything except be a joke on the world stage. This is not useful.

Quote
the mystic had predicted
Fuck. Off.

And that pretty much makes anything else you have to say worthless.

So, hope that helped. Stop being a manipulative douche and talk about facts and evidence next time.

Oh, and also,

I Will start digging for a underground house or build a spaceship and go to mars if ww3 happens. Cause everything will be worthless if the war starts ,only fiat will survive.

Don't mind it mate.

Kim Jong Un is full of talkshit. Just know how to speak boastfully but never doing an action. North Korea is a small baby compare to United States.

Yes we all know that, but that baby has nukes to play with and one nuke can change the world, 1945 bombs are yet fresh aren't they.

Are we not going to talk about all the things wrong with the op?

Would be cool, if once a month, we senior members would dedicate full day to troll these mentally unstable snowflakes. Eventually prompting them to seek professional help, saving both them and us more valuable time. At worst we could have good laugh and they wouldnt get any dumber.

Garbage day.

You wouldnt believe how fast I add people to my ignore list, not because of insults or anything remotely like that. Some newbies are just either so autistic or paid trolls, that reading their texts causes brain tumors.

I really don't get why my post annoyed you, would be glad if you could help me out with it, since you are here for a long time and I wish to be here for a long time would be glad not to repeat any mistakes made, don't know how I am wrong but accept my sincerest apologies.

We have GBP, AUD, JPY, EUR.
Try to consider if there is no relationship between the price of bitcoin with the aggressive military on north Korean.

Your question is non-sense in my mind. And remember if that's not a part of world war.

Bitcoin is valued in $ Dollar? I think your assuming that bitcoin is using a dollar currency only, because bitcoin has it's own currency and you can surely convert it to other currency and not dollar alone! I don't think a war would never change the way bitcoin progress but it may drop a notch it this continues!

And Regarding about the impending war I just read the news that The US navy sub arrived in the port city of Busan, on the same day that Kim Jong-un celebrates the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s army. Analysts have revealed the watercraft can carry 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles and are equipped to stealthily deploy up to 66 Navy Seals. well we are seeing some U.S. vessels on the port of Busan that might escalate a warning to north korea,

To have a world war, you need two big countries to square up against each other. North Korea is not a big country, and China is sloqly squeezing it, as part of their deal with the USA - for example, they have stopped buying north korean coal. My guess is that NK will back down, and we'll have a chinese brokered peace.

Basically the US is playing bad cop and China good cop, and it all seems to have been agreed by Trump and Xi at their recent meeting in Florida.

Be reassured, nothing will happen, as the Congress do not want to enter in war. And even if does happen, nothing will happen to the price, why would it ? If dollar price falls compared to the other currencies (but again why would it ?), it will not change Bitcoin price.

Yes, but it is WORLD war we're talking about, many currencies will be affected, bitcoin included.
Dollar price seems to continuously fall in value. This will sure affect the world economic system. As a part of value fall the bitcoin too gets affected. In this time if war out bursts surely a big fall of few countries mainly US can be felt.

So, if some people who have serious amount of bitcoins in cold storages die during the war, those bitcoins are gone. Will it influence the price? Or if the economy of the USA, China or Europe suffers will it affect bitcoin?

I have a counter-argument for that. Suppose there are hundreds of investors who were planning to purchase huge quantities of Bitcoin from the exchanges. A number of them die during the world war. As per your logic, that should result in the reduction of the exchange rates. I think that the effects will cancel out each other. No need to worry too much about it.
I disagree with you. A country that is under war preoriented its economy on a war footing. This leads to a depreciation of the currency of this country, and in the case of America this will affect all currencies. But after the war, the mandatory jump in the growth of the economy. At these races you can always make money.

If we really talk rationally about price,
it wont change by a lot in war days cause of low volume trades.
I dont know what happens after the war.
Anyways, dont be scared about nk, they have non-working nuclear bombs. even if they work im sure usa has tech to hit it on sky.

i think it's only big talk but nothing will happen rest assured, the rpesident of korea like to make this shitty talk to feel better he is like a child that need attention lol, and anyway i believe that i won't care about bitcoin if a nuclear war start, the money will be the last of your worry

I think so too. All these attempts at war are just an illusion for humanity to attract more attention to itself.
