I haven't had any losses yet and i hope not to in the future, but i will say that you can - in a way - prevent a "big loss" by keeping track of your progress and/or making sure of your project by researching it, before investing.

No huge losses here.

But there are some "losses" (haven't sold any of them so maybe they will bounce back)

Bought $100 worth of Espers which are now worth $10 total.
Bought 40 Radium at $5.5 each, they are at about $3 now.
Bought 200 SHIFT at $2 each, worth about $1 now.
Bought 100 Nexus at $2.5 each, worth about $1 now.

Now all except maybe Espers will probably bounce back.
But thanks to NEO (bought 20 at $7 each) and Waves (bought 300 at $2.5 each) I'm still not in the loss.

Ok, I made this post...  and now I think it's my time to confess  Grin Grin Grin
Fasten seat belts:
I bought 30.000 Cardano at... 1999 sat.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Applause please!
But the project is getting very popular worldwide, I am perfectly sure I will
make profit in a few months.

What are you saying? Cardano price never been above 600 sat.

I had bought stellar at 800 satoshis and i had holded too much and i see the value decreasing into 600 next day and i had sold mine coins into 300 satoshis, soo i had lost around 60% the investment i had made into it, i were able to recover a small part into doge, but lesson learned never join a coin in the middle of the pump.

True, I learned the same never join a coin in the middle of the pump.

Digibyte I bought it at $0.04 then I sold it for loss. It was wrong entry point, I learned my lesson. I don't think even now you should buy it

Me too, can't remember the exact price I bought it for but it was quite high and I dumped it at half the price. Devs were not active for months so cut my losses and ran

I've made a few losses at about 40/50% looking to flip a coin quickly and then having it dump on me whilst I slept, lesson is to not leave risky positions open while you sleep!

Fortunately, my biggest loss is that I did not sell Eth on 400. I hope this will remain so. I really hope.

What was your worst loss investing in altcoins? Undecided

My worst loss in investing altcoins is when the time I had sold my Doge coins, Litecoins and Ethereum due to an emergency that happened to me last October one 2017. I dont remember the percentage but I know that was that big since I bought it on high then suddenly fall continously and the sad thing is that most of my Bitcoins are converted into altcoins that time something like 80% altcoins and 20% Bitcoins. I don't really have a choice but to cashout all my holdings because I am afraid the accident will be getting worse so as a preemptive measure I converted all in fiat and fortunately nothing serious had happened to me and I fully recovered from such an injury. If only it did not happened I am still holding those coins now. That is my story of worst loss so far and I am hoping that it will never happen again in the future.

i think i am investing in YACC in the two years ago in poloniex but i am forgot to sell so i think i am not selling when the price is up and because of that, i am loss although its not much. but after that, i think i am loss but not too much and now i can sell when the price is up even if the increase is not much. beside that, i am learning to watching the chart and if the trend is showing the up trend then i can prepare to sell the coins and just hoping to make profit.

To this point, Ember - it was only 0.00000008 BTC, but now it's less than one tenth of that. I guess I'll just hold and hope something happens in the future, because they do have a decent looking roadmap. Thankfully, I didn't put in that much!

Bought OmiseGo at 0.0022 BTC sold at 0.00145 BTC. This was prior to hard fork for Bitcoin Gold, until now its still below my buying price so I sold it at loss. I see other coins or tokens now moving thats why I decided to sell and look for other opportunity. I am not into long term holding. I would rather sell below target price and buy a coin with greater potential to gain profits than wait for the coin that I bought to get pumped.

Was with Monsterbyte, not that it lost it's price, but I actually forgot to save the Waves Seed and before I could get my coins, I lost them all.
