Nope, it's not so healthy food. Holesterine, viruses, parasites, prions, etc.

Even if it is scientifically proven to be the most nutritious of meat, I still do not eat human.

My god, it is beyond my imagination.

It is too disgusting even to think off. I don't believe that I have the guts to eat human meat, no matter how much desperate I am. If I don't know that it is human meat, then I may eat it. But knowingly, it is impossible to eat human flesh.

If it was a life and death situation for me or my loved ones you best believe we'd be eating some human.  I'm from TX and can BBQ anything... low and slow would be the way to go.  LOL

What if it was the sacrificed child of your enemy? What if it gave you secret powers? What if it held the key to world domination? Would you do it? Would you eat another person?
Even if that's the case situation, I still won't eat human meat. I might choose to die than to have a super  secret powers.
Due to those such a things was not a normal things to do.

Whatever form and its benefits I will never do such a thing.
Just as you eat your own meat, iiiih "disgusting

So even if someone has kidnapped your family and threatens to rape and torture them for a year until they die of starvation and all you have to do to save them is to eat a bit of human flesh, you'd never do it? Really? Even if someone threatens to do the same to you? It's pretty stupid to make such statements as "I'd never do such a thing, regardless of it's benefits". Think about it.

Perhaps what he meant was that he would never eat human meat under "normal" circumstances. It is easy to be a keyboard warrior. But when you face real situations, what you had practiced in theory may not be practical in real life. But I agree with you. People should not be over-confident about themselves.

I can hardly force myself to eat some animals, even that is too much for me and eating humans is out of the question. I know there are situations when eating humans was the only way to survive and survivng is one of the strongest human insticts but I'm pretty sure I could never do such thing.

Stupid is not something that a person can give from eating human meat, and foolish to simulate that situation. Any crime should always be logic. Why would someone commit such a crazy crime. Stupid topic and stupid examples.

Those in Australasia almost always have a ritual purpose. Maybe they don't really need the protein.  Grin

I don't hear much about South America though. Whenever I think of brutal there, the only thing that came to my mind are the shrunken heads. Do they eat the body of those?

Cannibalism (of all types) was extremely common in South America (perhaps with the exception of the Inca-Patagonia areas). Before the genocide by the Europeans, the natives had no taboo against eating human meat. They regarded human meat just like any other type of meat. In fact, human meat was much more valued than animal meat.

Nah. There are tribes in Papua New Guinea that eat their dead relatives. That is their funerary practice. They find it disrespectful to leave the bodies of loved ones under cold wet earth. From a Reader's Digest article I read years ago, the guy being interviewed mentioned they leave the bodies out first for a day or so before eating it so that it wouldn't taste good. That is supposed to remind them they are not eating the bodies for food.

They had to stop the practice though because of kuru.

There are many types of cannibalism. The one practiced by the Fore people of Papua New Guinea can be called "funerary cannibalism". A few other tribes in that island practice ritual cannibalism of their enemies. They believe that they will become more powerful if they eat their enemies. Cannibalism for food was not common in Papua New Guinea, but it was present in South America.

Nope, why would i eat human if there are other edible food that can be eaten like meat, chicken and fries. Only people that eats human being are cannibals and ive heard that there are some family in south america that eats passerby's i think it was in the year 1800. The locals started to become suspicious when they were a lot of people went missing and soon they've out that the killers were a whole family that has the appearance that is the same as the wrong turn movie. I forgot the name of the article
I do not know how to whom, but the whole idea of eating human flesh is simply disgusting. I understand that there are many historical facts about the fact that people betrayed each other, but it is more compelled to save their lives. But today it is generally disgraceful.

Probably no.Yes some people have eaten many animals (some of them feels disgusting) and in the past there were cannibals people, but I don't think I could eat an other person regardless of earnings.

Cannibalism was wide-spread in the ancient world. It became rare as a result of the spread of Christianity. Cannibalism was practiced in almost all the continents, but was most common in regions such as Polynesia, Melanesia, Latin America and Central Africa. Now it has become a strict taboo, thanks to the spread of the western civilization.

They probably have fewer sources of good meat there in the archipelagos .  Wink

Cannibalism in the past is more than just hunting down food, it has symbolic meanings. For example, I remember some tribe in Indonesia that cannibalizes people accused of witchcraft.

Life as in horror movies. People eat each other The point is generally insanity or even something more serious. I can not imagine it at all.
