I wanted to see what the general thoughts of the community here are. With bitcoin being in a pretty steady state for the past few weeks, it seems like there's going to be a set up for some kind of growth. With that, there can be many paths, but after seeing today's price (which was up around 5% when I checked), I was wondering if the volatility is what people actually like about bitcoin.

So, do you guys like the volatility and the strong spikes upwards or would you rather like steady growth, around 5% gains over time?
I preferred steady growth with 5% gains, because in this case for sure we will earn for long period of time, while in strong spikes will be difficult for the reason of sure dropping after that great growth.

For what it is, big spikes always comes with big headache corrections. A steady growth is sustainable, healthier and desired.
So what would be you choice between the two,you seems tl be neutral about this stand of none partisan

Although it is difficult to say which one is better, I would also pick the steady growth. I know that it is not possible - the market is swinging all the time. But it would give us more confidence.

On the current situation of bitcoin its so difficult to achieved a steady growth the market are full of whales and suprises so expect a pump and dump sitiation. I also want a stready growth because if this situation will come Im really sure more big investor will come in the market.

A steady growth is more preferred. People want to get rich, but not threatening their own ethics and personality Smiley

I prefer steady growth only for bitcoin and ethereum because they are cryptocurrencies that have a large community among others, for cryptocurrency otherwise I prefer volatillty because trading with a crypto that has a strong volatility can be profitable although the risk is also high.

Even small increases but consistent is way better for me than short period spikes. Although massive pump makes some people rich but it goes down very fast. I prefer steady growth because I can assure that I do not lose that much money when dump happens compared to huge growth. Look what happened last year, bitcoin's price went up to 20 000 us dollars but now it is sitting at about 8 000 us dollars, I regret that time that I did not cash out my money. So I prefer steady growth to avoid huge losses when something bad happens to bitcoin's price.

Steady growth i think is better because it may attract more investors because they believe that they gain more with this no worry of falling down the price again so its pretty sure that even though it is slowly going up but with the confidence that its price will go high but slowly.

Steady growth will make bitcoin bad news about volatility simmer down. When the growth is steady, i believe that the drop not that spiking too. Steady phase is just when bitcoin surely reach its limit amount of its cap. But, for bitcoin could make steady growth is kinda hard in my opinion.

I would prefer to see a steady growth instead of the huge spikes in the price, but I cannot really make bitcoin do what I want so I have adapted to the difficult market conditions by adopting a very simple strategy which is to hold no matter what, some people do not like this strategy because they think it is not the best in this kind of market, but I prefer to protect myself and my small investments over trying to earn more.

A steady and small growth is boring, it will only happen once in the future. When all people already boringly well-understood BItcoin as financial assets, I doubt the volatility would remain exists. But for nowadays, the tremendous spike will be really exciting because of that we have a lot of trading option.

These doesn’t matter whether steady growth or strong upward of chart of BTC. What important is the growth of the cryptocurrency as whole? Growth of BTC alone is not enough to create a bigger market. It should be supported by altcoins. As a trader; we all know that growth varies depending on the volume of trades. There are no sure steady or strong upward moments but the sure thing is more upward and downward moment that is the law of supply and demand.

The BTC has started to fall in the last two days, which is a sad thing!

BTC's steady growth or rapid growth is what people like, and people don't like red in the cryptocurrency world!

I would prefer steady growth in Bitcoin rather than strong upward strikes. It entirely a matter of personal choice. Some prefer to trade so they will say strong upward strikes are good. But I like to play safe so steady growth is good for me. I normally hold on to my investments as I can’t handle risks well. But strikes are good for those who trade a s they can get numerous opportunities to buy and sell.

Not only me, surely there will be many people who choose a stable price with 5% growth. Almost everyone will choose to invest in bitcoin, because there is no risk of loss. But this will not happen, because bitcoin price is very sensitive. Bitcoin price can change at any time, we can not confirm the price.
While bitcoin price tends to be volatile, this opens a person's chance to trade bitcoin, depending on the experience and luck, because trading bitcoin is also high risk.

i personally liked steady growth around 5% gains over time and i don't like volatility but unfortunately we can't pushed our desire because if some of us does not liked volatility but this volatility always be a part of cryptocurrencies and some of people in my country considers volatility is similar such as bubble which is can be burst everytime

strong upward spikes indicate that btc is a bubble to lure people into investing then a huge selling , but for a healthy chart you should see steady increase in price .

I can see more steady trend on Bitcoin market trading. The market recovered or has its own correction after the market glitz, with the stable market fundamental posted, volume of investor increase slowly yet confident with the Bitcoin project. It does reflect this movement with the better acceptance of the Bitcoin as an alternative investment. The saddened spike on its project prices would indicate that something will happened either good for the crypto currency market or not.

If to choose among those two options you have mentioned then without any doubts I would choose bitcoin growth. Those who collect coins will be glad to sell them at high price if it increases. However, this can be arguable what is better

Huge spikes are impressive and they make a lot of people a lot of money, but for bitcoin I'd much rather see slow growth.  We all saw what happened once bitcoin got to $20,000--we crashed hard, and even though it was pretty much expected, it stung.

I'm not a trader; I am one of the people who uses bitcoin to buy things, and I tend to not hold onto bitcoin when I have it.  Big price jumps and drops don't help me at all.  If I was an individual who spent a lot of time on Poloniex or Kraken trading bitcoin to alts or fiat, then yeah I'd probably go the other way.  It's a good question, player514.

I will surely want to see the price of Bitcoin to go up little by little rather than pumping like crazy, because it means it is healthy so.
