Bitcoin has always had scams, hacks, etc. This is not something new, and it is not a fault of the currency. The reason why there are so many scams in bitcoin is that people do not do their due diligence when using a service, especially people who use dark net sites.

Bitcoin is certainly not dead.

but it is dying for now

Bitcoin is certainly not dead.

The same thing as fiat, there are many theft attempt as well and people doesnt judge fiat to be a bad thing or the fault of the fiat. The same thing should be do to bitcoin but many people just think that bitcoin are bad because of this thing. Bitcoin is not dead but it is dying for now

bitcoin ain't dying... at least not now, not without putting up a fight. It must be our job to ensure a secure and prosperous future for bitcoin and bitcoin community. WE have to be more attentive towards identifying such scams and spreading the knowledge to everyone old and new around us in this world of digital currency.
I'm saying this because bitcoin has given me a chance for a little financial stability and I for one won't let it perish easily.

I just won't.  Wink Wink Wink

I come back after three months to see if bitcoiners had given up and gotten jobs yet, here is bitcoin news summary of the three months:

1. No news (other than bad)

2. Lot's of news (none good)

3. Scams, wasteful and inefficient mine losses continue as they always do, and always will until zero. There is not even a point enumerating them, like counting cavities in a meth mouth

4. bitcoin remains confined largely to darknet uses such as child pornography, drug and weapons sales and human trafficking funds for ISIS

5. The vast majority of people (99.99%) when asked, "do you bitcoin?" respond "huh?" whereas the remaining: "yes that's an obvious fraud" (0.009%) or "yes I have been defrauded" (0.0009%) or "yes I am a Chinese/Ukrainian/Silicon Valley hacker that defrauds with bitcoin" (0.0001%).

Let's see...forgetting something...oh yes, price is 10% lower. Cheers!  Grin

Your mistaking "hadn't even really gotten started yet" with "it's dead"

Let me tell you about the last 3 weeks, not even 3 months.

First exchange is getting a real license to operate in New York.

BitPay got 50m in funding by a major bank. (Goldman Sachs)

Winklevii come much closer to getting the ETF tradesble for rich wall street types to buy in.

But this is a contributing reason for the negative media and publicity surrounding Bitcoin that has somewhat stalled new users (some people are just scared off and too ignorant to look into it or just have no heard of Bitcoin at all). There isn't really anyone selling the positive points of Bitcoin - most media outlets just affiliate it with cybercriminals and buying illict drugs.

To an extent, I can understand where the OP is coming from - Bitcoin has yet to reach the mainstream adoption it requires to be truly successful. As to whether it will eventually happen one day - that is yet to be seen.

Yea well the simple fact is that you can't take Bitcoin more seriously than the 'real' world around you. At this stage it's a case of laypeople possibly throwing a few unimportant dollars at it from time to time. Bitcoin as a non-conformist means you'll never find flocks of mainstream people heavily invested in it and that's ok for now.

meanwhile in new york the first government allowed bitcoin exchange opens..
so this next year of bitcoin is going to move at a faster pace, due to exchanges opening that banks wont block and of course the 2016 block reward halving that will send the bitcoin price into another spike.

It's done when you don't see people like me and everyone else here talking about the subject and bringing this up for discussion. Until then bitcoin is still pretty much alive. And if didn't notice the price action these past few days it points to healthy growth towards the expected halving next year.

I would expect smart money to come to these shores w/o any crap. And now it has, so go do your thing in this environment and come out on top sooner rather than later.

OP you forgot some, more are mentioned here: http://bitcoinobituaries.com/  Cheesy

Either way, it's fiat money whose days are over. That shit is gonna collapse like there's no tomorrow. Some will flee to gold, others will flee to Bitcoin. But either way, fiat is most definitely not here to stay.

Great job with the FUD OP, continue spreading it with all of your alt accounts, I need this low price to stay low as long possible for at least 5 years to collect 100 BTC from dumb weak hands.

Is bitcoin dead again?
Yes for the 55th time it's dead, jokes aside no bitcoin is not dead of course. Bitcoin will never die, it's decentralized so the market will always be open and unregulated.

Yes, but a new one was created exactly at the same moment, so no one really noticed.

Don't worry about the future of bitcoins. its gonna be great.. just think that you have invested for a long run dont think what people around you says about it just think and believe its gonna be revolutionary in future since its last 6 years of existence it has reached a new level just imagine what would be the scene after 10 years??
Internet exploded after 15-20 years... Bitcoin is still very very young Smiley but promising
