Made mistakes with your Bitcoin in the past...that you still regret or at least considered to be a wrong move especially considering the price of BTC these days? Three years ago, I got bored with the movement of Bitcoin so I look for other good alternatives which I can use to replace...unfortunately I decided to go for BTCV all in. And it was a big horror because two months after the price of BTCV dropped to just 30% to when I bought them...got no choice but to cut loss.

Please share your story here if you have one so we can learn a lesson or two...

Yeah , was being fooled by a friend lol.

I was being lured to invest in shitcoins using my Bitcoin saying that it will grow much higher in a week but after a week the project is scam and we are victims  Cheesy Cheesy

Anyway I have no regrets because it is my choice and we lose together so thats fine.

In my experience at the time of 2017, I did not experience converting my BTC to other altcoins. Because at the time of the bull run of that year, there were times that in one day I was growing around 200$ something because the price value of Bitcoin was rallying at that time.

And at that time, when I see that there is a correction in Bitcoin for the time being, I convert the Bitcoin to USDT, and then when I see that it will reverse, I will pay Bitcoin again as long as we know. how to keep up with the trend.

Reading the mistakes of others and it's best everyone learnt from their previous mistakes and coming back to invest in bitcoin is a good choice. I have never taken any wrong move with my investment and I don't think I will leave bitcoin investment for any reason or aspect of financial crisis. The only thing I'm regretting is I wished I knew about bitcoin earlier, I might have heard about bitcoin but I never took it so serious and I'm actually regretting but what's best now is I have started my journey and it's not too late to invest now.
When we have been able to learn from the mistakes that other people have made and that we have made, then we have to be even more careful so as not to repeat the same mistakes when we try again. If you can choose the right steps in investing, of course this will be very good and The assets you have will clearly continue to increase if you can do it correctly.

I have also felt like you feel, when someone tells me about Bitcoin, I just ignore it and don't listen well first and immediately decide not to listen and now I only see those who already knew that they already have a lot of assets and now I only realized when they saw the results they had gotten now.

Yes I have one of those stories involving bitcoin. It's actually my worst investment mistake I have made so far and every time the Bitcoin price jumps up 5-10% I keep thinking about it. Back in 2016 I first learned about bitcoin through my CSGO skin trading adventures. I was buying and selling quite a few skins on a regular basis and needed a way to quickly and cheaply cash out my money. From the online skin exchange I learned that bitcoin was the option to withdraw money with lowest amount of fees. My big mistake was that I quickly exchanged the bitcoin back to fiat. If I only had kept some coins back then, I would be in a completely different position today. Unfortunately we can't turn back time and the only thing to do is learn from our mistakes and to make sure but to repeat them. Which is now one important rule for all my future investing, to never sell all bitcoins again. It's fine to take profit with 10 or 20% of my holdings, but the majority I am going to keep.
There are a lot of such stories, I once made a very big mistake when I decided that the altseason would allow me to increase the number of my bitcoins, but I was greedy and had too little experience to then understand what mistake I was making. In the end, I lost almost everything because I didn’t sell altcoins on time, although initially the plan was good and I did everything right, I just didn’t sell when I needed to.

And then I started hold altcoins and it’s clear what happened. Now I only have bitcoin in my portfolio and I have no desire to increase its amounts during the altseason, I’m glad what I have and don’t want to allow a situation in which I might regret selling my bitcoins in the future.

I would say a grave mistake I had done in the past  is not believing in bitcoin and not investing in it right even before the last halving took place
I believe, you know BTC now and if you encounter any opportunity again when the market price drop down, you will use the opportunity well by investing huge amount of money in BTC and hodl them in your wallet until you are convince there is a real bull run before you can sell to take profits from the market.

Quote
Years later I finally learn more and now I know better I wish I had already invested way back then
Now that you have the knowledge of BTC, it will be a good plan for you to begin to save some money to prepare for another bear run to come before you can buy BTC and hodl, but I will not advise you to buy BTC at this current price $51k because it will not help you to make reasonable profits from the bull season that is about to occur in the market.

Not that I made a big mistake but only selling big chunks of my Funds back in pandemic , but actually it is not  about considering a total mistakes because I need money to feed my family .

But aside from that? never that I discard my crypto assets for anything  specially in gambling or other spending .

It may sound odd, but I have heard that reason to stop holding or trading an asset many times on the past, and this show us those people have no clue about what they are doing, the main goal we must have when investing is to multiply our capital, being boring should not be a factor at all and if anything that should be a plus, since if you can buy an asset and a few years later sell it for a price much higher than its purchase price then that is great, as you can make money without exerting too much effort.
Hold will basically be just like that, but I would choose another word, I think boring is a little wrong. Because I can see the balance of my portfolio and see how it is growing, it’s not boring, it inspires me, I understand that I’m doing everything right and all I need to achieve a good result is just waiting for the goals. So hold is correct and not so difficult if you understand what you are doing.
yeah , imagine just because he is boring he made this kind of transfer or this is really his plans and  just making some story about  this but this is His plans already   and just wanted to clear up his mind about this mistake.

I can say that almost all except the only one who remains in BTC will be safe and the others I think are not much different from the OP, namely having the same experience before where the trigger was a slowing movement caused by big investors waiting for issues A and B to be finished and correct before BTC exceeding 50K is very boring and what we previously thought was the right step turns out to be wrong and we have to cut loss..Indeed, the main thing is to seek profits by trading strategies but the market is very difficult to predict even though BTC is now at a price of $51,648.30.

op The Bitcoin market usually fluctuates. So we can't predict in advance in bitcoin investment what we can do is take risk if we hold bitcoin when the market goes up then we don't risk losing much money with bitcoin investment. But in investing in Bitcoin we must take risk and invest after checking the market.  Any time we can lose money in bitcoin investment so what we should do is to check the market and gain enough knowledge about bitcoin and have a long term plan in bitcoin investment. The current Bitcoin market cap is around 52K$. The current Bitcoin market looks like the Bitcoin market may reach 60K$ in the future.

Mistake are needed for growths, if we don't make mistakes we won't develop into the person we're becoming

Don't say that, we are not meant to learn from our mistakes, instead from what happened to others alone should be able to serve as our own means of learning, you can start and make no wrong moves, learn and grow, so i don't by the idea of making growth by mistakes, we rather learn from others than from ourselves, if we are been careful of most of the things we do, we could see that some of them couldn't have turned to what makes us lost and this happens in most situations whereby we are not competent enough on what we are doing, as for me, i don't buy the idea of learning inn the hard way.

OP, though no one is above making mistake but some mistakes would have been avoidable if you understand crypto investment, must coin are created for just test running to see if it will fit in the market and unfortunately if their is no influx of investor due to it's lack of durability, you see the coin die a natural death, I am not a fan of alternative coins and if am to advise anyone I will say that Bitcoin is the best because of its trust and multiple purposes and so on, though in investment diversification is not inevitable or a bad but if this must be done, precautionary measures should be in place so that actions will not be regretted.

Mistake are needed for growths, if we don't make mistakes we won't develop into the person we're becoming, mistake are needed to become a better version of ourselves. When you make mistakes and learn from them you won't make similar mistakes and it'll help you to shape your life pattern and soon you'll begin to see good results from the risk and investments that you're doing. Selling your Bitcoin to buy altcoins isn't always the better decision to do because sometime altcoins losses their value significantly and you can lose when you had all your money invested in altcoins. The best moves with your Bitcoin is to Keep holding them and in the future you'll be benefiting. Many Investors have made a wrong move with their Bitcoin that they had and this has made them to become beggars again.
When we can learn from the mistakes we make, of course we can develop to be even better so that if we decide to try again, we can avoid repeating the same mistakes we made and we will be better prepared to invest and seek profit from the investment.
To be able to gain profits in the short term, of course there is no harm in buying altcoins to be able to make profits from altcoins and we must keep saving Bitcoin for the long term so we can benefit from the long-term investments we make.

It's great that you realize the mistake you made personally. Such a case is already worthy of respect. There aren't many people who can do that. Well done. It's a pity, of course, that you lost money on investing in an outright scam, but it's not the end of life. You still have time to understand a lot of nuances in this crypto direction and the investment process. The most important thing is to keep your hands up and move forward, despite the obstacles and difficulties that arise on the way to achieving your goal.
SOmetimes we just need to open our eyes and close our mouth to accept what really happened and use that as a tools to never let it happen again.
this is the reality of life that we are not here to just earn but to learn.

but with that experiences ? i am now a good in every area of crypto and will never fall from same traps again.

Mistakes can be very valuable lessons, just like me when the shitcoin I had soared, my greedy soul emerged to keep holding it, until finally the coin was delisted and I lost something I should have taken. However, regret is useless because remembering that it will not come back, so I can use this as a lesson so that I don't repeat the stupidity that I have done, and of course greed will never win.

In fact, if we are patient enough to wait and maintain a long-term perspective, we can use that experience to learn more about bitcoin and the cryptocurrency markets. As for bitcoin, like any investment, it can experience short-term fluctuations in value, but historically, I believe that it has shown strong growth over the long term. We can measure our risk tolerance and improve our investment strategy when we go through that kind of regret and mistake.
We are acting quickly, in my opinion, because of the feelings we were experiencing at the time. Since emotions may hinder our judgment and cause panic when it comes to investing, we tend to make more logical financial decisions.

During my early days in the crypto industry, I had upto $158 in my wallet balance, I was told to buy only Bitcoin by the guy mentoring me, which I agreed to it, a few days later, a friend of mine told me that their is not much profit from Bitcoin, so he suggested a coin to me called Gft, I ignored the advice of my mentor and go with that of my friends.

I bought that gft at a price of $0.1100 with all my usdt, it was not even up to a week, when the price of that token fell to $0.6000, and my capital of $158 was not even up to $80 again, after upto 7 weeks, it was still coming down, I just have to cut my lost, and sold all the coin at $74, right now that coin is trading at $0.0230, after then, I learn my lesson the hard way, I never told the guy mentoring me, because I know that he would be really mad at me,  since then, I stay off any coin that is not Bitcoin.

Mate am happy that you have learn and I believe that you are not going to make such mistake again, though is normal for you to blame yourself in this situation because you refused to listen to your mentors advice as you said, the problem many of us are having as bitcoiners is greed and lack of patience, this usually happens to people that does not understand bitcoin, though most times is not easy to take some decisions, that's why is advisable to make a good research about bitcoin and it's activities, despite that it is almost impossible to predict bitcoin movement because of it's volatile nature investing in it is more efficient and trusted more than other coin, mate you should forget about the mistake though it will keep reoccurring to you, just concentrate on your future in bitcoin and make it right as time goes on, this is my take on this.

Though People can all make mistakes and they all have chances to correct their mistakes by learning lessons and avoiding to repeat similar mistakes, very few people can learn from experience and change themselves.

The market is very attractive with new trends appear and replace each other with time, so people who failed to learn from past mistakes and losses, will step in similar journey with new trends and lose money again.

Trends can be different but scam types basically are the same with different technical trends.
