His personal info is all scattered on this forum, disclosed by himself. He linked to profiles of external sites registered with his full name, publicly discussed very specific and unique episodes of his past, etc.

I'd say that not being anonymous is not a concern for him.

BTW, I also noted the BFL bit in the article. I refrained from comments but I'd like to add: it's nice to hear that BFL sells out every time they launch something new.

I made this connection right away, and it was confirmed late in the article when it was mentioned:

"Mr. McIntosh has figured out a way to limit losses. Before receiving his new $1,500 bitcoin mining machine this summer, he sold investors 69 "shares" of the rig, worth 1% of its future findings."

Ditto on the detective work. And I was going to PM him to see about going to a certain bar, which we had discussed on a thread a while back, when I go back to my farm outside Austin at the end of the month.

Regarding deleting the thread, the whole world does know where he lives; it's in the article. The whole world just doesn't know he's ProfMac on this site.

And, yeah, now he's a Bitcoin Expert. There're worse things in life.
