PayPal? No way. Someone offered me $5 per LTC on Reddit, with good reputation, too, and I still refused.
It's just too much of a hassle, and I firmly believe LTC will be $10 in a month or two anyway.

Anyone else ?

I'm not upset, trying to keep people from being scammed. You know, community and all that jazz. Also, it's hilarious that you think the only way PP will reverse the transaction is if someone writes "Thanks for the bitcoins, bro!" in the notes.

I'm not trying to be hostile towards you, and you always have the option to click the 'ignore' beneath my avatar, but i refuse to let someone spread misinformation that could get other people scammed (yourself included).

Thank you, I appreciate you looking out for the community - I try to do the same. I do not use ignore button - I like to read all posts; and yes, I have already been scammed once, so I know the feeling.

Despite that, my offer is still on, and I have done successful transactions with many reputed people in this forum using PP. So, it is ultimately buyers' choice.

Again, PP will initiate chargebacks if the money is suspected of being used to facilitate the purchase of other digital currencies. They will do this on their own, and are judge, jury, and executioner. It happens every day. With paypal, the risk is always 100% on the seller, even for years afterwards.

Bottomline - if you are paranoid like ^^^ this person, not need to transact. This post is for others. Thanks.
Paranoid? It happens everyday. These are facts.

I highly suggest you not make this personal.

Dude - take a chill pill. You seriously need improvement in your reading comprehension. I have also mentioned that in the transaction do not write anything on the sending note at all. Is it too hard to read ?

While you are seating on the couch, the ceiling can crash on your head any time, and you cannot do anything in your power. Now go and shout about that.

From my understanding, PayPal charges the receiver of funds a 3% fee, thus reducing your 5% incentive to just 2%. At your current offer of $280 for 100 LTC, or $2.80 per, there is not a lot of reward for the person who takes you up on this, as no matter your reputation, they do risk chargebacks. PayPal can initiate the chargeback on their own if they disagree with the exchange for non-tangible items.

Since sent and confirmed LTC cannot be charged back, its 100% risk on the seller side. Also, LTC has traded recently as high as $2.65. I could wait until later this afternoon or tomorrow and very well sell for $2.80 on the exchanges and make the same profit with less risk.

IMHO, if you really want to attract interest, I suggest you consider upping your premium.

It will be PP gift transaction. You never ever do "purchase" transaction with PP from seller's side. Since this is not a purchase, PP will not initiate chargeback, as long as you do not write anything in the sending note. No % is lost - you get full.

At current rate, as of this writing, I am buying at 2.40 / LTC (btc-e is at 2.25) - and it will keep changing. As I said, 5% above btc-e at any point.

This is completely false. Ask on OTC or other similar places, we've seen chargebacks happen almost a year after a legit transaction. We've seen it happen through PP, as well as the credit card issuer through PP. Paypal has no limit on chargeback time, and any money suspected of being sent to fund/purchase cryptocurrencies is subject to being frozen at any time. Paypal is the #1 scammers currency, and should not be used for any irreversible transactions. Although some people have been doing it for years and have had no issues, you should not be instructing people that a PP gift transaction is immune to chargebacks, as that is completely false.

Please re-read the posts. This talks about PP initiating chargeback by themselves, not when buyer initiated a chargeback. The concern was if PP will initiate a chargeback autonomously.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up, I did not know about the gift transaction part.

Anyway, yeah, you may want to wait to see what the price is after Mt. Gox comes back online, I got a feeling you can buy a lot of LTC for a lot cheaper in a little bit. Smiley Good Luck!
