Ugh still no luck on my end. I had some bad intel and ended up staying up until midnight a few nights back. After the initial release they're released so sporadically that it's hard to figure out what stores will have stock when. It also seems that there's no point in trying online because they're sold out within a few seconds/minutes. Ugh. I really wish we got there 10 minutes earlier haha. What a waste of time!

Ya the problem with that is you're too late if you somehow are refreshing at the right time and it's in stock with that website.

Man, Chris!, I really want one--I'm an old school gamer, and I don't have any console currently.  I really want to play those 30 games that I haven't played in years.

Snap  Grin

My computer education went...

Atari 2600 / C64 / Nintendo NES / SNES / Amiga 500 / PC

Not available in UK either at this time - Nothing is going to stop me getting one before Xmas though.

Same here. There's got to be a way to get them! I keep missing when bestbuy gets them (or anywhere else). I have to go to a physical store or I'm not going to get one I've come to realize. Anyone else have any luck yet!?

I was either at best buy or target earlier and they had some, nobody around me seemed interested and I wasn't there to buy it I am sure after reading this thread they are sold out by now.

Gah! What!? Nooooo! I was just waiting up to see if they were going to get more stock at midnight for the online sales. The answer is no lol. They are not. If you see them again BUY IT!:) (please and thanks). If someone wants me to put money in escrow just tell me and I'll do it.

Alright Ill go back to target and bestbuy to see, if I find one I am going to buy it, if no one here wants it I guess Ill return it.

edit: I went to target first and they had a sign on the window saying they were sold out and didnt know when they would get more in stock. didnt bother going to bestbuy after seeing that. guess the time to buy something is when you see it.

Haha very true. Thanks for heading back though. If you see them just buy one and ask questions later Smiley hahaha. As long as it's a Nintendo NES Classic Edition I want it!

Anyone here anything? I heard toys r us had some for about 5 minutes and EB games got a few more but I found out too late for both.
No and I've given up the quest for now.  I will wait until Nintendo comes to its senses and starts mass producing them like they should have done from the get go.  I don't need to buy them for gifts or anything.

Have you checked Nintendo's website?  They may post updates.

Have you tried doing nationwide searches on craigslist?

I forget some of the sites but you can find them on Google

I tried Kijiji. It seems to be bigger in Canada. I don't know anyone that uses Craig's list to be honest. I think it's an American thing (maybe I'm wrong?). I'm just sort of sitting tight to see if any local stores or online places get them back in stock. Only if I'm desperate will I end up paying maybe $120 CAD. I couldn't justify throwing away more money than that. It's just kind of a nostalgic gag gift.

Try the "offer-up" app for your mobile phone.  There's people selling them in my area for $99.

I've never heard of that app. All I can find is guides on google play on how to buy/sell. Is it only for ios or something? I'll have to check out other areas. Ebay is only for the people that don't want to look around I guess. Well that and the people trying to make a quick buck.

Man, Chris!, I really want one--I'm an old school gamer, and I don't have any console currently.  I really want to play those 30 games that I haven't played in years.  I think $60 is a freaking steal for the system, and I'm not surprised in the least that they sold out.  They just planned this thing poorly.

I'll probably end up buying a used NES and have to blow on the goddamn cartridges.  The 1980s all over again.  Tongue

I won't poop on your thread no more.

There are tons of the original NES on eBay. I was really surprised. The games are really expensive though so this NES Classic edition would really be the best bang for your buck.

Jesus christ whatever you do don't stick a Kleenex or a q-tip in one of those cartridges or your dad will have a fit Wink.

Total forgot about the NES release until yesterday.  Saw someone trying to flip it at $400... Any idea when they are going to be back in stock?

I haven't heard anything else at this point. I'll keep this thread up to date if I hear anything else.

Here are the places I tried that did have them but we're sold out:

EB Games
Amazon (for about 2.2 seconds)
Walmart
The source (online only apparently. Maybe my local store just didn't get any)

So those are the places I would call to ask if / when they are getting more stock.

Yeah, I read on the Amazon site that they plan on restocking within weeks.  As to how many weeks, that's anyone's guess.  I've played those games to death as a kid, so there's no rush for me to get one of those systems, but they just did a poor job of estimating demand.  I'm patient.

Re: NES.  Those pins that connected the game cartridge to the system used to get corroded and dusty and whatnot.  Am I the only old fart around here who remembers this?

lol how are these going for so much?

I have a friend that has 100 real nintendos.

Should I buy them off him and start unloading them online or is it just these 'new' ones that are worth anything?

You could hit a pawn shop for the real old ones.

https://www.wired.com/2016/11/how-to-get-nes-classic/

But if you can wait a month, these will be mass produced for Christmas now that they realize the demand.
