Trezor > Ledger from a UX and software perspective, by a mile

To be fair:
Any wallet that uses open-source firmware is > Ledger.

I wouldn't recommend a Ledger Hardware Wallet at any time. They finally dug their own grave with their announcement in May with 'Ledger Recovery'.
But I'm glad to see that more and more users are paying attention and switching to other hardware wallets. Wheter its Trezor, Bitbox, Seed signer or even Jade from Blockstream, which we have already talked about.
Luckily enough there are now enough alternatives to fall back on.

ledger kinda left a bad taste in my mouth when the announced their idea of storing the private keys as well. And yes, I know I will not be using it ever but that idea they came out to offer has stained them in my eyes.

No worry, I fully understand your point. I also keep my Ledger only as a collectible... I was thinking to raffle the other one but, if I get the chance to make a deal with someone without the raffle I won't say no to that Smiley This is why I made the suggestion.

Nevertheless, I understand your position. If you will change your mind, please let me know Smiley

Hey krogoth, if you are interested in collectibles shaped as wallets, I have a Ledger Nano X branded by Betnomi. I won 3 such wallets at their raffles but I don't need all 3. If you want to see some pictures you can do it here. The wallet from those images is unsealed, but I am talking here about one which is sealed.

I used the unsealed wallet to check its hardware integrity and the result was that the wallet is not tampered.

If you are interested, please let me know.

Hi Gazeta....Thanks for reaching out....but will need to pass as I might have one stored somewhere. I really lost track of what I have and don't thru the years. I guess I need to find the time to dig thru my stuff. Also ledger kinda left a bad taste in my mouth when the announced their idea of storing the private keys as well. And yes, I know I will not be using it ever but that idea they came out to offer has stained them in my eyes.

   But thanks again regardless.

Looking for the Bitcoin Only Wallet. If you have a spare you wanna sell please send me a PM.
Found someone on their subreddit who changed his/her mind after ordering the Bitcoin-only version of the Trezor Safe 3, so if you have no issues entering into a bidding war with a few users, you can contact @genfre.

Thanks for sharing...I can imagine what this person will ask for it if too many people go after it. Not willing to pay stupid prices...if he does ask for that kind of price, rather keep my Sats  Wink

you could buy one of the other colors and load the bitcoin only software to it.
And 3d print orange case to look similar to original Trezor 3 limited edition.
Currently I can only find official .stl files for model One and T, but I am sure unofficial files will be released soon.
https://github.com/trezor/trezor-hardware/tree/master/case

OP if you are looking for other bitcoin-only hardware wallets you can check thebitcoinhole.com, than in Firmware filters select bitcoin-only.

@krogothmanhattan the jade hw-wallet is definitely worth considering. if i were you, i would look into it a bit more before or as long as you haven't received a trezor 3 offer.
there is also a separate thread about the jade wallet: Jade DIY hardware wallet
there you can find more info and answers to your questions Wink

Thankyou to all for the inputs...I mostly buy these as collectables as well. I am mainly a Trezor and paper wallet kind of guy.  Thanks for all the feedback ye all!

could also make / buy a seed signer - works just as good or better than the jade.

Seedsigner is the best Bitcoin signing device out there. Full stop.

Aye..that is a good wallet...have had my eye on it for awhile and if I am not mistaken that is Adam Back's company.

Yep, you are right. He is the CEO of Blockstream.

To the jade wallet: Pretty nice wallet and the only one besides the Coldcard Mk4 which offers air-gapped transactions via camera.
In contrast to the ledger it is also fully open source and the price/performance ratio is simply right here. Would recommend this wallet as an alternative.

I thought it was kind of a turn off that they only offered it in the original model, and they didn’t offer bitcoin. Only on the Trezor T

The JADE is badass complete open source :

You asked for a bitcoin only hardware wallet, I posted about one (that was on topic) because it was a “bitcoin only wallet” and you delete my comment ?  Lol

Howdy....No idea what you are talking about as I do not have a self moderated thread....so no..I did not delete you comment bro.

That’s weird, I thought it didn’t make sense , here is a copy n paste from the email I got that says what happens and at the bottom shows what my post said

have you tried the JADE Hardware wallet that is bitcoin only?  its built by Blockstream and its amazing, allows for air gap signing/transactions

That is crazy...why would that post be removed?  Please ask a Mod as I would love to see what the reason was behind that removal. There was nothing wrong with that post and if anything it was a great post.  Thanks!

By the way, which one did you post about? I collect all types of wallets, and I just store em away. I have almost every edition of Trezor...shame on me for not buying, but I didn't realize it was a limited edition. I am kicking myself in the ass  Tongue
How much are you willing to pay for Trezor Safe 3 BTC edition?
