Whenever these threads pop up it's almost reassurance that the moderator in question is doing a great job. They deal with claims that they are abusing everyday I would imagine and none of them have any merit.

mprep moved a few of my topics and deleted some posts I was not so happy about but wasn't really anything I could consider unwarranted. The some 60 posts he deleted in the PayCon thread was no so cool because we lost a lot of stuff that although was a lot of Spam and nonsense, could have been refined into real stuff later on.

Atlast, somewhat right answer! @mprep : You are doing a great job!

   -MZ

That's why I said it wasn't totally unwarranted Tongue

Is there any examples of the threads that have been deleted? Were they just deleted or were they moved to the right section (if applicable)? I'm not certain its forum policy to delete low quality topics unless they're somehow breaking the rules. Also people will have different views on what a low quality topic is, maybe the poster(s) will think it's a fine topic and when it gets deleted they're angry.

Hey Mprep,

This thread is proof positive you are doing it the right way.

I've never had a thread or comment removed by Mprep.

This is bitcointalk forum guys! So you are already lucky to get a altcoin section.

Good Job mprep! Im happy to not be in your shoes. Dealing with altcoin is probably a nightmare.

Keep your good work man!

I'm an asshole how?

You know how people are. Thieves/mentally-ill persons doesn't tell I am a thief/mentally-retarded person, instead, they usually say you're/he is a thief/mentally-retarded person. Don't worry! Smiley

You're doing a great job modding! Sent you a small, token tip. Thank you for being an awesome member of the community Smiley

Dang, completely forgot about this thread.

Agreed. mprep needs to go immediately

Agreed, the altcoin section has become a swamp filled with scammers, which for some reason are allowed free reign.
That's forum policy not to moderate any kind of possible scam.

Nah maybe mprep just got a heavy bribe so he needs to do shitty jobs nowadays.

Wouldn't be the first time for bitcointalk
Nope, doubt I'd be the first choice to bribe though.

During the Monero frenzy here this board was a wasteland. There were so many single sentence topics with no content spamming the forum, there was so much worthless fud being spread from noob accounts, it was unbelievable. So what happened during this time? Nothing... My 2 cents.

I delete low quality topics when I see them. Notice one? Then don't sit around, picking your nose and use the "Report to moderator" link.

Any kind of proof of shitty modding?

He probably moved somebodies thread in to the correct forum and obviously this makes him a tyrannical cunt.

I have also had a problem with Mprep moving a few of my topics. I messaged him had a chat and overall worked it out and did not find him to be a bad guy.

Like this. Did he move your thread to the right or wrong forum?

mprep has been the bad apple for a long time. I'd also suggest a nuke and perma ban after removing him as a mod.

Bad apple lol. Why? For giving a 'reasonable warning' according to the op? Mprep is probably one of the most least offensive and least controversial mods here and probably would've been completely polite and reasonable if you people would had just PMd him with your issues to get an answer rather than just making these threads.

They'd have to hire him first, I guess. I don't think he's employed here.

On topic: As a (relative) outsider, not visiting the alt coin boards it's good to see that the call for removing a mod is backed up with some clear evidence so we can all ... Oh, wait there is no actual evidence in the OP. Not even anything linked. Since you obviously have clear evidence why didn't you share some of it instead of expecting everyone to find it themselves? I'm sorry, I don't care enough to dig around for it.

So, at this moment in time I see no need to remove mprep.
Previously there was a long time that the altcoin section was more or less unmoderated close to 100%. As a result the people who are involved in various shitcoins were able to get away with almost anything they wanted to without consequence. Then once mprep was promoted to moderator of the altcoin section, he started enforcing the rules (who would have thought), by moving  threads appropriately, deleting spam posts, putting threads in the trashcan that do not belong, among with I am sure other things. Enforcing the rules obviously make it much harder to pump various alt cons(my computer auto corrected altcoins to 'alt cons' and I think it is appropriate to leave it as is) that have no value.

I have to agree with you here. All the scam coins are never going to succeed with him enforcing the rules of the altcoin section. Who is he to delete shit posts that do not belong? Who is he to make sure threads are filed correctly? Who does he think he is enforcing the forum rules?

This should go without saying but /s
