Ebay prices are allways outrageous... Sell it on ebay if you want that much. Just don't come crying when someone bricks it or scams you and then wants a refund which you are obligated to give them due to the 45 day no questions asked warranty you give on every item you sell. Wink

Where did you get that? Any sources?
Err that's standard eBay rules.. Paypal can give them their money back within 45 days.

It's not that easy. If you can proof that you sent the item and the customer received it it isn't possible. Otherwise I'd be able to screw over whole eBay on a few millions.
For digital goods it's something different though.

Unfortunately it is that easy. Buyer simply files for item significantly not as described, claims it is defective (lies if need be) and ebay sides with the almost without fail. This forces you to accept the return AND dings your ability to have future listings even show up in searches.

I can offer .25

No can do.  I got 0.29 for the last one and it had some issues as well as the BTC price being higher then...  Appreciate the offer though.  When the weather changes and it isn't keeping me warm, I will be more likely to accept a lowball.  Smiley

Ah, but the lifetime expected return has dropped considerably.

I feel you.  The price of the device hasn't though.  For example, here is a current eBay auction for the same card:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAPPHIRE-Vapor-X-AMD-Radeon-HD-7970-GHz-Edition-6GB-/221364972637?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item338a616c5d

It is going for $455 with more than 12 hours to go.  I don't expect to get eBay pricing, but I'd like to get within 15% or so.  In any event, 0.25 BTC is WAY too low.

FYI that is a 6gb card and they tend to go for a lot more than the 3gb versions. Is yours a 6gb card?

Mine is a 3gb ghz edition.  So, this EXACT card:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAPPHIRE-AMD-Radeon-HD-7970-GHz-Edition-D5-3GB-Vapor-X-GDDR5-Graphic-Card-/291035350386?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item43c30f0572

That being said, I'll lower my asking price to $400 in BTC.

If you ship to confirmed addresses with signature confirmation and select no returns, eBay isn't a scam concern... However, I don't want USD or to pay paypal fees, so I'm offering at less than the going rate. There's no reason to get upset that I won't sell at a ridiculous price. Make an offer or don't. Your opinion on what the price should be is less credible than eBay and I have no need to sell this at the moment, so I really don't care if you think a 15% discount to eBay is too expensive. Each day it mines more LTC for me and heats my home. Not a bad reason to wait a couple months to get my asking price.

Yeah... just sold shit on there for long enough and there is a reason I do so very infrequently now. Main thing that killed me was a guy bought a FPGA a year ago from me. Couldn't get it to work. I setup team viewer with him and went out of my way to help him... Told him that the jumpers might need to be switched on the device and he sent it back to me.

Of course he wanted express shipping upfront so I had to refund that. Know what happened when I got it back? Jumpers needed flipped.

Sorry, don't mean to crap on your thread.

I can't justify spending that much when I can't make it back. I impulsively bought a 290X, when the price was $600, and then watched the price jump $100 over the next few days. I've almost ROI'd that card, but the 7970 would be more of a pain. I already have an XFX 7970, so I kinda wanted to make it symmetrical.

No worries.  As you can see from the eBay auction ending at over $500, these cards are heavily in demand.  If anyone would like a discount to the going rate on eBay, along with paying in BTC, the offer is here.  I'll accept $450 in BTC.

I have 1 more of these for sale.  The ball bearings on it actually aren't bad.  It has currently been running flawlessly for several weeks without making a sound.  However, in the past it did freeze up on a couple occasions.  Whenever it has frozen up in the past, a little canned air gets it running normal again.  Just want to be totally open about it.

If someone would like this beauty, feel free to make an offer.
