Nothing to get until 30 days from now when difficulty goes up so having now has its benefits to some

Not when you factor in the higher running costs of the S5s vs the 0.2x w/gh of the S7. Gear on the forum is now ridiculously overpriced. Maybe once the S7s ship buyers will come to their senses once they realize that now their gear have further depreciated.

I don't think so. The only time when miner gear is a "great deal" is when the difficulty is skyrocketing or when the BTC price is tanking and people are panicking and selling their gear for next to nothing.

Currently, 350USD is more in BTC than what i paid last month for a S5 from Bitmain so i find it pretty worrisome to make this purchase. However if the BTC price become more sensical, i might be interested in picking up one or two, depending, sometime during next month.

Shipping to Canada should be much less prohibitive than when we considered the S3s.

BTC price will rebound you cant get discouraged just because of a few down days were all here for the long haul. I purchased more bitcoin yesterday I am already up $15 a coin since my buy

Indeed, i merely mean, with the S5 price down and not just BTC, if i wait for BTC to rebound before buying, it will cost me less BTC, thus shorter BTC roi. My train of thoughts anyways.

we are all in this because we believe BTC will go up profits at current hardware efficiency and BTC price are minimal its the long term bet nto so different then the stock market right now times its low is time to buy in and hold. I am perfectly fine running these S5's till they burn out I was just trying to make some room for more gear and right now its very hot in my farm once things cool down ill be back into hardware heavy again

understood BTC price is currently down since bitmain closed sales of his second hand batches, but at this point he has not hardware for sale and I expect there wont be anything listed for at least 1-2 months

That is quite likely. BTC went even further down, making almost any ASIC purchase an uncertain venture now. People locally even started to list their stuff on local private adds. When people start dumping their ASICs, hmm. It will be time to buy soon. Smiley

If you mine and hold BTC with those S5s, it might be possible to get their full value if the price go up afterward but thats a bit too speculative for me.

But for now i'm watching this thread for price Wink
