Did the letter show any indication as to when the item might ship at this point?  The delay I've been seeing all over the place is still a bit disconcerting even with the notification...  Still looking to purchase a preorder or preferably one that is definitely on its way.

Would you do an escrow, paypal, etc?   Also, perhaps we can do a simple 50% down, and 50% transfer for when it has shipped?  Thanks!

I'm the high bidder on this item. Auction closed at $6100, which is a fair price if it doesn't turn out to be another fake. The seller (1 feedback) is already asking for bitcoins outside of ebay (and with no mention of escrow), which would void buyer protection.  Furthermore, it looks like Paypal is freezing accounts left and right for BFL preorder sellers (not surprised, eBay requires presales to ship within 30 days of payment, period). This will be the second BFL preorder sale I've won on ebay that ends up being a blatant scam attempt. Looks like I'll be getting my money back... again.... .

Furthermore, this auction is preorder 8xxx.  BFL states 400/day capacity which should put this one shipped before June if they don't push release again, and only about two weeks after yours is supposed to ship.

If they DO release slowly or push ship dates on the singles, neither this one nor a July order is going to have that kind of value IMO. Avalons are selling at these high prices due to stable delivery dates and (from what I've seen) have been done with escrow.

I've got plenty of pre-order dates for Singles.  If you're willing to pay what they are worth in BTC, I may listen.  Highest offer I've received so far is $10k for my June 23 order, but I don't think I'll be accepting less than $30k at this point.

Getting excited for them to start shipping!

As the price if BTC has risen I may be willing to go lower though others are attempting to sell well north of 100btc.

This turned out to be fake. When asked to provide proof of preorder and complete payment via ebay, seller canceled auction.

I actually "won" an auction from this guy (with a slightly different name) for order #1776 a month ago and I was asked to wire the money to a bank in Budapest.  As you can imagine, the sale did proceed  Roll Eyes

100 BTC is a great deal for a July order. For reference, 10 10gh/s ASICminer block erupters just sold for 75 BTC each, although I'm curious how many of them will actually pay... My 3 october orders mentioned above went for $10,995 each last month on eBay. Both buyers never paid though, and I suspect few are actually receiving any payments on their eBay sales.

Based on the block erupter price, this unit would be worth 75BTC X 6.  It would take less power.  While I think those prices are crazy, it does give an idea of what an ASIC can be worth.

I would sell right now for 100 BTC, but it will probably not happen.  Now when BFL is shipping more units I can imagine a flood of people would say they would be interested and complain that it is much more then 100 BTC at that point.  That is the whole point, offloaded risk.   Once the risk goes away and you know you have a device that can churn out near 100 BTC a month, you are not going to sell it for 100 BTC!

1) Erupter's were stupidly priced, they will NEVER make their money back on the price they paid.
2) Erupter's are different because they are in hand right now. No some vague future date.
3) Pointing at eBay auctions is ridiculous, the vast vast vast majority are fake bids.

100 BTC for this miner is insane. IF it ships (and it's a big if) then it's during a time when a shitload of TH is being dumped onto the network, so it's going to become worth dramatically less within a week as more and more ASICs come online.

Trying to compare any ASIC in today against what they will be worth for a preorder in the future (even an early one) isn't logical.

Wow - I don't have a very early order but I have a preorder for 5 singles and I'd sell them for 100btc each in a heartbeat.
When is your order date?  What model?

March 13th, the 60GH model.  After looking again, it is 4 singles not 5.

I showed you a string of sales.  You are showing one sale that is a valid comparison.  All of the others are too recent orders to compare with.

Lets see where this September 2012 order goes to....

It is at $4750 now

Do you not read?  The ones you pointed out are NOT early orders.  Your first one and third is December.  Second and fourth not specified.

Do not compare a July order with a December one.
