I was in the impression that the private key will be written on the card and then sticker will be pasted

well, dude, you will put private key behind that sticker, so if you do it right, folded paper, with face down, then will be visible...
but if you put printed side to the sticker, then.. well, think for yourself

well, dude, you will put private key behind that sticker, so if you do it right, folded paper, with face down, then will be visible...

You will recieve holo sticker separated from the card, so you can print your private key, and put it under holo sticker.
And one more thing, if you peel off holo sticker from the card, it will broke, you can't put it back...
