Been trying to sell mine for years now, for a 'fair' price. This particular coin has been deemed 'ugly' and not worth much more than 26BTC.

Im in the same boat as you @Super T.......want no less than 29BTC, or it gets peeled, and i will not post.

My 25BTC Casascius is the last one to be funded by Mike.......

I would give you 26.5 if you wanted.

Thanks, but as ive explained on my sales thread, i would get more pleasure than the 1.5BTC premium, by still owning the redeemed coin. I also dont need to consider security or the cost of physical delivery.

US Registered Mail covers $50k and is used to mail classified documents. Does the U.K. Not have a similar courier?

It seems sensible not to ship a coin loaded with this amount, I don't know whether you can even get insurance to cover the loaded value. Besides, if you are plonking down $26,000 on an item, it's probably better to spend that extra 5% to buy plane tickets and pick it up yourself

I don't think that there is an insurance which covers bitcoins when being shipped via a parcel.

Thanks, already been in contact with OP, he's asking too much and not willing to ship (understandably), I'm not sure he intends to actually peel the coin.

Fair comment - have not intended to mislead, in the OP I did make clear I was after a local exchange, and price expectations (>28) - neither of which have been offered.

And yes, it will be very hard to unseal the coin, plus btc is rising whereas I was convinced it was headed south of 800...

Consider this coin on the market for 30BTC with local exchange in London - I will update if spent (or less likely sold).

Thanks to all who have taken the time to respond.

I would just hang on to it, it's difficult to unseal a coin and it forces you to hodl through the ups and downs, open in or sell it on the next halving, you won't regret it.

With the little premium that the 25 btc currently offers I don't think it is worth it to sell it if you want btc, the risks of mailing it and just a premium of 5% on purchasing 25 btc is 1.25 btc

Likely to unseal within 24hrs unless I have a compelling reason not to - which I appreciate makes me a terrible human being.

You would need to be in London, England.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...let's not be too hasty. Hang on a minute.

Here's your Huckleberry right here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wtb-casascius-25btc-coins-1835797

This buyer is in the States, but I'm sure you can work out a suitable shipping arrangement so you don't redeem this sucker and raise the value of every other Casascius coin out there! Let's be honest, the fewer that are funded the more valuable the rest become!

If you end up peeling the coin, PLEASE keep the hologram attached to it after the peel!

Only peel the hologram 50-75% and then gently replace the hologram after capturing the key.   Wink

If photos show it to be in mint state I would make you an offer.

Edit to add:  28 is above current market price in my opinion, so my offer would be more than 26 but less than 28, depending on condition.
