The premium had higher quality paper and print quality from what I remember, however I can't find a source right now.

Here's a source: Yes that's correct, it was called "premium" because I used the highest available print quality. If I recall the difference was quite small, but printing cost about double.

Interestingly I still have a handful of "scraps" of the signatures and holograms leftover from the Autographs Edition, I don't know how many but I'd say about 20 substantial sets, which could be used in some special way down the road.

any chance of selling a set to go inside my book? dont know if that would be crazy priced or not

Not at the moment as I don't have them nearby, but I can take inventory this spring/summer and see how things look. If I have an even number like 10/15/20 I'd think it best to preserve for a potential future edition or project.

For anyone confused with all the different versions you can see an overview of them all (including more pics of the error pages) here: https://wiki.coin.community/Encyclopedia_of_Physical_Bitcoins_and_Crypto-Currencies

I have not seen too many of these for sale/auctioned, so the price could vary a lot depending on who is selling and who is buying. Personally, it would take a lot for me to let go of any of these books.

Oh...good stuff.  I didn't know this page existed.  Thanks for the link.

What's the difference between the revised edition and the premium revised edition?
It says premium on the cover and has the vacation photo error, otherwise nothing. Just collection wise its worth more. If your buying this book to use it just buy the cheaper one or you can still buy a first edition on ebay for 100. If your not going to use it and keep as collectible buy a premium or first edition

Also watch my encyclopedia video...lol..like it

Any idea what y'all think one of the very first editions with the holo on the front are worth?

(Softcover, very first editions I think(?))

Thanks! I also want this, so...

I'll offer 0.01 BTC

When you say first edition do you mean one of the books sold presale with the Hologram on the cover? Signed by Elias, and Howard AND the only books signed by the Casacius creator. If so those are just as rare and valuable as the autograph editions ( My opinion). I have no knowledge of a previous sale of this book but would guess 4k-7k

That is the the Revised edition on Amazon. That is the current book still for sale. The book for auction is the Premium revised edition.  This is a far more rare copy. You can find them on ebay still but thats about it. Going price is $200-$300. The autograph version is selling for $5000-$7000 last maker edition sold for 8k

Found this for the autograph/hologram versions: 50 sets of which 20 were for the hardcover encyclopedia => https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/autographs-for-the-encyclopedia-of-physical-bitcoins-1717024

Edit.

Correct.
COAs #31 to #50 were reserved for this
COAs #1 to #30 were rerserved for some of the Makers Editions and other sales

Thank you sir.

I searched for a post regarding this issue, as this is the first time I heard about it, but only found mentions of it in some book auctions from 5-6 years ago.

Wow...I had to check this out and low and behold, I have this error page in my book as well.

My book is one of the Autographed/Holo versions and I suppose all of these books were in the same batch, so they probably all have this error page.  Can anyone else confirm?

Oh...and sorry Elias, I don't think I could ever sell this book.

Yes, can confirm
The initial print of these books were all shipped to me for the purpose of making the Auo/Holo versions and distribution... all had these picture errors
Maybe around 50-70 copies of these exist if I remember correctly

The Cryptonumist
Author here. Even I don't have one of the errors, so I'm willing to pay the price of a new book, $137 USD (inclusive of shipping to Canada).
Consider this the opening bid   Cheesy

As for general info, this is only found on the hardcovers. What happened was that I had used the same camera to take the vacation pictures as the coin pictures, which meant that they had the same file names like NIKON_SD_CARD_DCSM_404480 or whatever, and as such the final upload of the book switched the coin photos for others of the same name. Good thing that's all it was.. While I have no idea what's on the right, the left is actually me in front of the sign for Pripyat, the radioactive abandoned town next to Chernobyl, which was recently (still?) occupied by invading Russians who apparently dug trenches in the area, releasing a bunch of buried 40-year old radiation.

Can you check page 150. If you see the authors beautiful vacation photo's (see below) then you have one of the ~50 error copies that were made.

That is funny, never knew about this error. Indeed page 150 looks identical to the one you posted with the 2 cutoff pictures of LEALANA coins at the bottom
