Hi are there still any available?  I would like to purchase one.  Please get back to me
I'm going to stop selling for a while and focus on inspecting the miner more before shipping out. In the men time you can maybe pick one up on ebay Smiley

Just curious, but is $115 the actual going rate for GAW Falcons? I have one I am looking to sell
Seemed like a good enough deal to me. If you tossed in a psu/controller combo I'm sure you could net a bit more.

Cool, payment sent for 2. Will update when there's more info to update. Folks here seem much more satisfied with identity than on reddit. Go figure Tongue

Awesome, tracking numbers received, Falcons are in route! Shipment total weight is 45lbs so unless it's a box of rocks it seems totally legit!

For those that are ltc mining, keep an eye on the pending block reward halving as part of your ROI calculation.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I'm concerned about the halving too. I haven't found an online calculator that takes it into account.

Not that anyone really knows what will happen when the litecoin reward is cut in half. Will cutting the supply result in an increase in value, or has that already been realized in the run up? It's an unclear time...

Only time will tell. But there are other scrypt coins to mine aswell.

That might be what you're running, but what is it pulling? 1200 seems really high for that miner

well that would be about right:

same thing with zeus 28Mh

Ya, I did some research on these, you're right on the power draw.

For reference, these are essentially a pair of black widows in a single case. Each of my widow boards pull about 250 watts at 120v. When I first got mine, I found the fan pulling air from the back of the unit which, in my opinion, seems wrong.  One of the first things I did was flip the fan on the chassis, blowing hot air back into my hot aisle the way it was intended.  I also found the wire to be rather thin, and I replaced with 14awg with crimped terminals. You're wiring options will vary based on your psu. One thing I learned for sure it's that it's better to power each board separately than using two ends from the same lead coming from the psu, just too much draw. I'm looking at you EVGA.

Those blade center psu, or the ones from quakefiend420, I keep seeing on here would be great for powering these, with replaced wiring into the chassis.

If I had the available power in my mine, I'd pick up a few of these.  They are solid miners, even if a bit power hungry.  For those that are ltc mining, keep an eye on the pending block reward halving as part of your ROI calculation.

Keegan, I don't meant to spam/derail your thread, but id like to throw out a bit of info to whomever it may concern, i hope its okay

The wires that power the miner have a stupid 8pin connector with the last 2 pins empty. Unfortunately that limits what psu they can plug into directly. so you will need a modular psu with at least a total of 4 8pin connectors to use the miners power wire directly and be a direct fit without modification. I suppose you could cut off the unused part of the connector and make it a 6 pin connector, but it is something that i personally never felt comfortable doing.

My experience is, stock clock speed and a smaller psu (1050watt) is ok, but Do not overclock with that Psu

The wires that come with the miner will be too short to power it with the psu's outside the unit unless your psu has a compatible extension. You can lengthen them or run new wires entirely. I have seen people remove the cover, drill holes in it and run the wires through that to each hashing board, reassemble and run it with 4 tiny psu's on top of the miner, personally i think its a bit silly.

The miners fans suck air through and across the heatsinks, so air is going the wrong direction through a standard atx power supply, i usually disassemble the psu and reverse the fan, or you could reverse the 3 fans on the miner, not necessary, but something i do.

Yes they have that stupid 8 pin. BUT I have checked and most come with a 6 pin adapter that way you dont have to do any surgical procedures on anything. Smiley

You just take the 6 pin connector and put it on. Than you take your 6 pin cable from your psu and plug it into the other end of the connector. I just took one out of the box and powered it up. Everything works great- http://imgur.com/JpYblEm

So these need a power supply and controller (Raspberry Pi) to run them?

If so, what's the recommended power supply wattage?
I think 1200watt Is Probably Recommended. I have 1 rpi that i could throw in for free.

Unfortunately I don't have a 1200 watt PS, and a new one would be more than a Falcon is worth.

Is it possible to drive these with a pair of lower wattage PSUs? I probably can scrounge 2 980 watt units.

Alternatively does the OP have any used PSUs for sale that would work?
Yes you can split the load between 2 psus. I have 3 1200 watt psus ( but they are off brand from china and i cant seem to find the special power cables they take) And I have 4 Corsair RM1000's 2 of which are brand new and the other 2 are lightly used.

I can sell you a psu or 2 if you need one. Thanks
