To answer the first question .... there is a possibility that ANY card you buy from this seller or ANY seller other than STARBUCKS.COM will be recalled. Why do you think they are so cheap? It's a gamble. So far I have been very lucky with other sellers.
I can't answer the 2nd question but do you think this seller or any seller is going to answer that question either at all or honestly?
Whether he answers honestly is his prerogative. My goal was to have a record of any guarantees up for public display.

That sounds like an admission that these are obtained illegally to me. I would caution to avoid trading with this user, there are others who provide more reputable dealings if you want gift cards. Always remember, there is a reason they are so cheap.
