What could you offer in trade? I am not sure what people value the physical coins at.

Im not really sure either. Maybe a 1 btc brass s3 or a .1 btc silver.

You would have to send first and id want to make sure the gold was good just cuz your new. Nothing personal.

Understandable. What are the brass 1btc selling for?

I'm not 100% sure I will make it to the BTC party but I do plan to be there. Not knowing the date makes it hard. Also there are some risks with trying to walk this into a country and I will have to look into that.

Sort of related, do Americans need a visa at all to go to Germany? I assume no but who knows.

There is no visa entry to EU for americans (aka US citizenship), you get a stamp on arrival, works like a visa - you obviously would need the passport for that. I don't think there are any problems moving the coins across the border, just fill the customs declaration as silver medallions, worked for me. It's trickier if these are marked as coins (because you have to prove they are not some rare collectibles), but silver medallions or tokens should be fine, there's no $ sign on them thankfully, and the year is recent, so not at all triggering interest.

And you only need to do that if the total is over 10k usd, which in case of silver rounds is like 500 pieces.

I think everybody from outside the EU needs a tourist visa to visit an European country.

Hey; here's a free bump and a price suggestion on the following list:

2 - S3 .5BTC (brass)
2 - S3 .1BTC (silver) [First Day]
2 - S3 .5BTC (silver) [First Day]
2 - S3 1BTC (silver)
2 - S3 1BTC (silver with gold trim) [First Day]

Basically, I want two of each of the coins on the list, as a need to complete my collection. I would like to negotiate, let's start with a 15BTC offer for the set. No shipping, would not trust postal service for the funded coins especially of such value, I hope to meet in person at btc1k party, will prepay 10% of the agreed price beforehand and 90% in person if that's fine. If the party is delayed, can meet in some country of your choosing too, preferably close to europe, hate transatlantic flights Smiley

2 S2 1000BTC (gold)  2fa

What does 2fa mean?

I want the 1oz gold coin version of the 1000BTC without the funds on it.  Do you have both of them?

Question:  Imagine in the future I wanted to fund these coins and restore them back to funded status.  Is there some way I can work this out with mike or are they done for good?

Goat - I thought I'd reply to this because the answers were simple; feel free to delete my post and respond yourself if you prefer (no offence intended by my replying; not trying to hijack your selfmod thread for any gain of my own).

bitmarket.io :
2FA = 2 factor authentication. It means you need more than just the coin to redeem the digital bitcoins; that way if you were to loose only the coin (e.g. if it were stolen) the thief wouldn't necessarily be able to access the digital bitcoins unless they also managed to get hold of the other factor. See https://www.casascius.com/ for more detail; in this specific case of Casascius 2FA it works like this: "If you have purchased a 2-factor item, the private key is encrypted and will need to be decrypted using your original preselected passphrase before you can redeem the funds." So to redeem, you need both the unredeemed coin and the passphrase.

I imagine that you would need to ask Mike about restoring the coin to funded status (again see https://www.casascius.com/ for contact information) but I'd be *very* surprised if he was willing to do that. It would mean that redeemed coins would have the same value as original, unredeemed coins except for the face value, which is certainly not the case right now.

Best

If you have something I don't I am willing to trade.

I have a 25BTC Series-1. I'm interested in a 10BTC Silver w/gold-plating, plus whatever else would be fair to make up the difference. Any interest/ideas?

I think you just screwed me.

Me?  If so how so?

You are paying a lot less than 25 BTC to get that coin.
Not you. I feel since he offered you a better deal I'm already cut out of this. Sad

I have more than one coin, and I'm selling one for a family member who wants cash. Your offer was fine. Are you still going to take the deal?

I have not even contacted this other guy yet, but I will just to see how much more he wants.

Yep yep. All was cleared up.

The 1000BTC coin makes me wanna cry  Cry one day I can buy one

You can still get the LTC version early.  Start buying/mining yesterday.
