How is this affected by the recent announcement of changes to the referral system?
Once Riot announces the new referral system, changes will be made.
I may shutdown the service if there is no point in offering it anymore.

sorry didnt read the other messages until now, so how much BTC for a 100 referalls ?0.09BTC approx, in LAN there is no refer a friend system, but you could purchase a level 15 account with 100 refs and transfer it to LAN ( it cost 2600RP, tho )

As far as I know, only the following servers have refer-a-friend system
EU Nordic - East
EU West
North America
Brasil
Turkey
Russia
Try going to rewards.YOURREGION.leagueoflegends.com and check if you can join the refer a friend system. If you can, it will work.

I am afraid that it does not work for LAN servers, since they don't have any reward system yet.
You could purchase a level 15 acc ( https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FZSAvMcs.png&t=544&c=5IkOlUprvY37_Q ) ; Those have 17115 RP and for 2600RP you will be able to transfer the account to LAN server, and then you will be able to gift things via the gift center to your main account or anyone that has been in your friend list for 2 weeks.
Some clients did that without problem and it's the best deal for those regions as far as I know.
Let me know if you are interested, the price for those level 15 accounts is 28€.
