The hologram being defeated would only be plausible on an Orange coin I'd believe but I agree on the devaluing with using a different color/style label since the original distribution would be changed.

I see that a couple have sold already and I think the pricing is much more appropriate at this level.   Smiley

In my mind these are still part of the larger group (the 83.1%) and are a hybridized version of the grey label coins.  Since these were toned without the holograms applied it may have been appropriate to give them a different color/style label if you wanted them to be truly unique.  Anyone can tone them (obviously won't have the same firstbits) but nobody would be able to reapply a hologram as these holograms aren't in circulation.

I agree that the AT coins are part of the larger gray address group and that they are a hybrid version of the gray address coins - no argument there.

I've not considered, nor will I consider, giving the AT coins a different color or style label because that would contradict what I originally laid out for the distribution of the Node Bronze. It could potentially devalue all of the coins already purchased (and secondary trades for non-gray coins) and I refuse to do that.

And yes, anyone can tone a gray address coin, but they must also successfully remove the hologram, change the first bits to one of the 7 coins above and then reapply the same hologram (since as you said, these holograms are only distributed as applied to the coin). All of this is possible (see defeat of Casascius hologram), but unlikely given the required effort and skill set needed.

Not trying to knock the toning you did as I know it was one of your first attempts, but it doesn't look as professional as it should for the asking price otherwise I would probably be all over these.   Wink

I appreciate the critique (honestly), and I wouldn't represent this toning as "professional". I was more interested in how the concept of artificially toned coins would be received. Perhaps if the toning was more professional there would have been more of a response  Cheesy

I've lowered the asking price to something a bit more "reasonable".
