I replied I did not accept your escrow and wished to use someone such as John.  Maybe my message never seg

I don't think John has been an active escrow for a very long time...

Agreed.

Heck, the last 4 posts are from people well enough trusted for escrow.
Geez that's wild. But Og is like one of the most trusted active escrows. The other three are good choices too.

I could escrow as I have no interest in an ungraded coin at this price.   Smiley

The escrow needs to be a trusted third party mutually agreed by both buyer and seller.  There are the 'usual escrows', we all know them, 6 or so. But some people may have history with certain escrows, or already have sizeable funds held with an escrowed transaction (so may want to use a different escrow for other trades), that may determine who the required escrow needs to be. Sometimes flexibility is needed by both parties to get an agreement

Bump, Had a buyer offering 2.3BTc but he has disappeared. Open to new offers.

I didnt disappear. You disappeared. Although you are the seller and should find an escrow person, you asked me to. So I found two people to do escrow, but you refused. I told you I was going on vacation without internet for 8 days. I just happened to have a local hotspot at this moment. But please don't tell lies on this thread.

I may be mistaken, but usually it is up to the buyer on what escrow to use and set it up.

Regardless - OP, did you refuse windjc's choice of escrow, and if so, why?

As a seller I have always found the escrow person. Why would it be up to the buyer? If so, I've been doing a service for buyers for years. Smiley

The choice of escrow should always be a mutual agreement.

I think it is OK for the seller to list/announce 1-3 possible escrows, then can the buyers evaluate if he can agree to one of the escrows suggested by the seller.

No need to mention, but for a sale of this size should the escrow be one of the trusted members - and not some random guy who believe that selling a few MS keys and trading accounts worth $3 qualify him to act as escrow...

I was about to ask the same question. There are only a few trustworthy escrow users to choose from, and they are indeed that - trustworthy, so to see the OP refuse two of them is a bit off. I'd like to know who was suggested, along with their reasons for refusing.
