Any Casascius silver rolls that I have opened have themselves been inside a heat sealed bag, together with a Casascius business card that has the roll number written on it.

Would be very interesting to know if these are also still inside that (as well as the tube)

Can they guarantee the capsule is genuinely sealed, is there some sort of tamper evident mechanism sealing it that couldn't be purchased off the shelf?

I would think the longer they are in the tube, the more chance they have to be shuffled around and scratched before being opened.  This could most likely be the reason for keeping them "unopened" since they could have been moved around a lot and obviously this is a buyer beware/do your homework situation.

It seems like the right time to sell if they're thinking about it.  If BTC goes down I'd estimate they are still worth the same amount in BTC due to unknown condition/possible scratching.

I will get some photos up soonish. I'm confident that it is genuinely sealed & have full confidence in the seller.

Not sold yet. I have forwarded offers to the owner, but he is willing to wait for the right price. We also discussed doing an auction, but the owner is not interested.

In current conditions, I don't blame the owner for not wanting to do an auction. Unless you started it at a reserve price (which just puts people off) then auctioning them might be a decision that he will regret.

I am even unsure what a roll of 20 is currently worth.
34-36 BTC seems like a rough figure, but I'm not even sure on that to be honest.

Good luck with the sale Elianite.

Wow, nice item you got there.

I suggest you to wait for the right buyer, some people might buy it for a really high price.
At the worst scenario you can separate the coins from the tube and sell it individually

Can you explain why you are not willing to just run it open itt?

I do not have the tube, nor am I able to guarantee that the owner will sell for the 'winning bid'. I simply know who has the tube and is potentially interested in selling, and I will act as an intermediary in the sale if an offer is made at which the seller wants to sell. That said, things would be different if I was specifically asked to run an auction for a client, though I would likely arrange it via minerjones in that case.

I will try to arrange for photos. Please do not post offers or buy prices here; PM them to me.

I retract my bid then and will not be counter bidding anyone else. I think secret/private auctions are crap...

Mine as well buddy. Happy to participate in an open auction or group chat

I'll get back to you guys, I respect your view. I might be able to make a public or semi-private auction happen. That said, I invite anyone who considers themselves a seriously interested buyer to inform me in-thread or by PM so I know to add you to a group convo if we go that route.

A possible solution would be to do a private group PM for this.

Still transparent but not open to anyone in the world to read.

I will offer 30BTC for it. The way the tubes shipped in the plastic cases means it is not really sealed. I assume this is the standard clamshell holder with the 1Ag* written on the end of it?

Possibly the last time you will see an item like this offered.
Located in the USA. Not in my possession, but I can arrange the sale with the most reputable of escrows. Ask questions publicly, send offers by PM.

Do you have some sample pics of it? I'm not much familiar on that item. And can you please provide initial price so that i will have an idea on how much discount i will ask for you. Thanks Smiley

I do not have any pic at this time; I was simply contacted by a trusted individual who would like to sell it.
For info about the coins, I recommend you look at the Casascius section of the free eBook on my site, www.coinfirm.org
Each coin is 1oz silver and holds 1btc, with the average price of 1 coins being between 2 and 3 btc on this forum historically, about 2btc per coin as of late (i believe one once went for only 1.8. This roll has 20 of them. For an extra fee, I can arrange for all of them to be graded by anacs prior to you receiving them.

Your free e-book on your site is very large size. I'm currently using mobile data now and it is too slow to download. It is stated that it is just 1/3 of the complete encyclopedia. I'm very curious on what is the file size of complete encyclopedia if ever there is availble ebook of it.. can we PM regarding this? Thanks

If you aren't familiar with it....then you aren't going to be a buyer.  I'd be surprised if seller let it go for under 40...
