So it seems there is some interest.
I am doing 1 file and showing you ...
File 1 done and sent , waiting for reply
Sent 1 file and bitsplit was online recently, mate at least reply to my pm ?
Wow. I was at a networking event, yea I occasionally open a page on the forum from my phone but I'm not really "online" to do much. Additionally I was only sending a feeler for interest and price quotes there was no need to do it yet. The original request was also to include time stamps to synchronize the text to the file which your PM is missing
I think it might be better to split this task actually, have one person transcribe it, then another person go back and timestamp it.
Hey bitspill, may I transcript Part 002 of the D-Day broadcast? I have some spare time on my hands and I wish to make it productive. Thanks!
P.S. How much is the rate again?
Rate is not set yet, how much are you thinking?
So what is the rate for the new task?
I am interested in transcripting a couple of audios but the sounds for some of them are muffled.
And kindly make a record of the completed audios in OP to prevent any confusion.
Rate is not set yet, how much are you thinking? Also there shouldn't be any completed documents yet. (except for txbtc, he's a little crazy and went ahead and did the first already
)
What would be the conditions for this job?
Between,
the guys commenting above must be kidding, 8 ~ 10 USD per hour of audio? I have seen quotes of around 1 USD per minute. No matter if you live in one of the countries with the shittiest currencies should you work for that low; even if the whole audio were perfect, it would take around 4 times its lenght to transcript it (an estimation I read somewhere, which I find reasonable). So, this will be a work of between half and a full day (8 hours working day), for 10 USD?
The only way I see someone working for that low is delivering bad quality transcription... (I remember about a month ago user lolgato was offering really cheap English - Spanish translations; it turned out that he was using GT -or any other machine translator- and the results were useless).
Depending on the conditions of the job (when defined), I might be interested. I would suggest at least 40 USD per hour or 20 without guarantees (not putting much effort in completing missing words, etc.).
Conditions aren't set yet that's what I'm here to ask.
Looking at various countries minimum wages $8-10 could be quite a lot,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country txbtc even went ahead and completed the first file before I could even begin to agree upon a price and it seems he expects $8 for it, so it can't be too outlandish that he jumped on it that fast.
txbtc I'll send payment for that document later when I've had the chance to actually read it over and we establish the details/price of the actual job.
