Wow, so now I've got 3 documents completed via PM before I can even say I actually want to do this. Remember this is a hobby project not something I can afford to invest a lot of time/money into.

While I understand it's not the easiest work and is typically not cheap I just can't put a lot into this so only do it if you are feeling bored or something.

I haven't had the chance to look over the documents submitted via PM yet I'm still working on other stuff but if you guys really want to continue with this I can probably only do $5-$10 per document depending on quality maybe up to $15 if you include time stamps since it's just a hobby and not a real job that must be done.

If you are willing to do this for the $5-$15 range quote the below block and add yourself next to a document, or remove yourself if you aren't up for the low price.

Part 1 = txbtc (done via PM, not verified yet)
Part 2 = MagicIsMe (expressed interest via post)

I am choosing Part 014 for now. Will wait for your update with regards to the price.

Edit: I also offered a price of $1 per minute for the earlier transcription work offered but people offered lesser than me and I gave it a pass. I'll need to check if this work can be done for a lesser price but the best and decent rate is $1 per minute.

Can't think how people can offer $8 per hour  Cheesy

Edit2: Timestamp required? It's mainly required for subtitles but for audio files it would be a tough task  Roll Eyes
I completely concur with this statement. I can do the timestamp but it'll take quite a bit longer. If job is still offered let me know what you think is a decent price for the work .
Oh by the way I'll take part 20.
Cheers

I'll do it this weekend (forgot to mention when) hope that isn't a problem ha Smiley

What would be the conditions for this job?

Between, the guys commenting above must be kidding, 8 ~  10 USD per hour of audio? I have seen quotes of around 1 USD per minute. No matter if you live in one of the countries with the shittiest currencies should you work for that low; even if the whole audio were perfect, it would take around 4 times its lenght to transcript it (an estimation I read somewhere, which I find reasonable). So, this will be a work of between half and a full day (8 hours working day), for 10 USD?

The only way I see someone working for that low is delivering bad quality transcription... (I remember about a month ago user lolgato was offering really cheap English - Spanish translations; it turned out that he was using GT -or any other machine translator- and the results were useless).

Depending on the conditions of the job (when defined), I might be interested. I would suggest at least 40 USD per hour or 20 without guarantees (not putting much effort in completing missing words, etc.).
Seconded. I did a vid transcription for around the same price($0.75 per minute) and it seems I was the one who offered the lowest.

But well if someone likes to do it for less who am I to argue? Do check for errors though bitspill, sounds a bit too good to be true to me

Edit: And time-stamp included? *Speechless*

So, I looked around various online audio transcription businesses and observed that the price you suggested was just right. $1/minute is the standard among many services, but I think it should be lowered to about 0.75$ per minute or ~0.0125$ per second (to be fair). Anyway, it's all on you, bitspill.

Hello Bitspill,

I am able to start right now with transcribing. I have plenty of time and a good typing speed.
I hope there is still some work left for me.

I would be really interested in it. What ever serious rate you will offer me will be okay. PM me if there's some work left Wink !

So interested ? I don't require a special rate. If it is good enough, I'll get to work as soon as I get time Wink !

I am doing 1 file and showing you ...
File 1 done and sent , waiting for reply Smiley
Sent 1 file and bitsplit was online recently, mate at least reply to my pm ?

Wow. I was at a networking event, yea I occasionally open a page on the forum from my phone but I'm not really "online" to do much. Additionally I was only sending a feeler for interest and price quotes there was no need to do it yet. The original request was also to include time stamps to synchronize the text to the file which your PM is missing Tongue

I think it might be better to split this task actually, have one person transcribe it, then another person go back and timestamp it.

Hey bitspill, may I transcript Part 002 of the D-Day broadcast? I have some spare time on my hands and I wish to make it productive. Thanks!

P.S. How much is the rate again?  Grin

Rate is not set yet, how much are you thinking?

So what is the rate for the new task?
I am interested in transcripting a couple of audios but the sounds for some of them are muffled.

And kindly make a record of the completed audios in OP to prevent any confusion.

Rate is not set yet, how much are you thinking? Also there shouldn't be any completed documents yet. (except for txbtc, he's a little crazy and went ahead and did the first already Wink)

Conditions aren't set yet that's what I'm here to ask.
Looking at various countries minimum wages $8-10 could be quite a lot, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minimum_wages_by_country  txbtc even went ahead and completed the first file before I could even begin to agree upon a price and it seems he expects $8 for it, so it can't be too outlandish that he jumped on it that fast.

txbtc I'll send payment for that document later when I've had the chance to actually read it over and we establish the details/price of the actual job.

I think that this is quite kind of hard work so I think that at least $10 for each hour. That rate would be good enough to attract anyone
