---

I feel you.  I've been playing a lot of games on my PC while I was waiting for my Series X.  I will say this though, the Series X is better than my gaming PC and still quite a bit cheaper.  I'm back to playing on the console again and think at least for the next year or so, the console is back on top of the gaming experience.

I just take a look at the spects, and looks like really interesting information to share here, because i wasn't even aware the Ram DDR6 was already a thing:

Quote
Processor - 8x Cores @ 3.6 GHz (3.4 GHz w/ SMT) Custom Zen 2 CPU
Graphics - 4 TFLOPS, 20 CUs @ 1.565 GHz Custom RDNA 2 GPU
Memory - 10 GB GDDR6
Memory Bandwidth - 8 GB @ 224 GB/s, 2GB @ 56 GB/s
Internal Storage - 512 GB Custom NVME SSD
I/O Throughput - 2.4 GB/s uncompressed, 4.8 GB/s compressed
Expandable Storage - 1 TB Expansion Card (matches internal storage exactly)
External Storage - USB 3.2 External HDD Support
Optical Drive - None, digital-only
Performance Target - 1440p @ 60 FPS, up to 120 FPS

You are right, this piece of hardware is really powerful. Maybe we should use them for mining! hahaha, just joking. Now i'm thinking about get one too.

A big number of users who play on PC do it with a Xbox controller, I'm one of them, and I'm not really interested in buying a console because my Alienware can run any game that i can run in a XBox with a decent quality.

But a new console for $299 is a fair deal, this was more like a personal challenge to PlayStation and his $600 dollars new console.

It is certainly good news for Xbox fans and I hope that this Trend will spread a general lowering of price all over the world, however despite the technical characteristics I continue to prefer the Gaming PC with which obviously can also be done other things  than playing ,and can be assembled more or less with a low price

Got my Series X tracking #.  Won't be long now.  Grin

I think I've decided to go with a SAMSUNG 75-inch Class QLED Q80T television.  I have room for an 85" but I'm worried that might be too big and blind me.  However, I do like the idea of having a little space with a 75" so that I can also add a Philips Sync Box for an ambient lighting experience.  Anyone got any experience with this, or have any opinion on a 75" vs 85" screen?

I not such a big console gamer, still using my PS3 at home from time to time. Overall I prefer playing on a PC instead of a console. But if I would be buying a new console this year it would definitely be an XBox. The new PlayStation is just too expensive and they are ripping of people with new games. The pricing of the new PS5 games is crazy, European have to pay more than USA and Asien players. This is not fair and we should all Boykott the new PS5.

The S can’t do 4K natively, so I’d say that’s more for people with 1080p televisions who don’t want to upgrade yet. If you have a 4K tv, you’ll definitely have a better viewing experience with the Series X.

Yup, I'm one of those non-4K people ;P

Me too at the moment. I think I see a 75” Samsung 4K TV coming my way this Black Friday though.

Good choice of TV ! The Samsung 4k 120hz Screens are AMAZING ! I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the QLED & OLED Side by side.. Maybe because im half blind or Samsung just rules the market Cheesy. And the OLED ones really got some serious Burnin Problems :S :S

Otherwise for which model are you aiming at?

I was thinking about this one: SAMSUNG 75-inch Class QLED Q70T Series - 4K UHD Dual LED Quantum HDR Smart TV with Alexa Built-in (QN75Q70TAFXZA, 2020 Model) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0849QPL5B/

It seems to have everything I want, and I like the idea of a 240fps mode as a bit of a future proof option. I’m open to better suggestions if you have any.

I’m also open to suggestions about ambient light products. There’s quite a few of them that vary a lot in price. I just need to light up a little area as my TV cabinet is in a recessed wall niche but would like it to change colors accurately and well.

I've heard the pricing of Microsoft's new (low end) game console might be popular in the UK/Internationally due to it's pricing, especially compared to what PS is going to be offering.  Anyone overseas have an opinion on this?  Will this get some PC gamers onto consoles?  Will this get PS users to switch to Xbox?

https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/09/09/introducing-xbox-series-s/

Sounds very competitive compared to the PS5. But what about the games, will games for XBox also cost 80€? This is such a rip off for the European consumers compared to Asia or North America. If the won't make the games cheaper for us I will not be buying the new console. In my opinion the PS4 is still a good console, better to wait until next year for some lower prices.

Xbox has Game Pass where you get access to tons of games for a low monthly fee.  Microsoft has also been buying studios to ensure exclusive games going forward.  Superior hardware, deeper pockets, better online network, more exclusive studios...  Xbox clearly has some major advantages over Playstation.  While I will never understand the move to give Mixer to Facebook, which was another huge advantage over Playstation, it's clear this generation belongs to Microsoft.

With just over a month until the new system is out, I'm getting excited.  I sure hope there are some built-in surprises for streaming that could cut down on the need for a separate PC to handle things like overlays, camera effects, and alerts.

Xbox Series S is great but when it will come to my country i.e. India it's price will be more than 400$😑...so it's better to buy a pc rather than any console here and moreover we can also play the games of Xbox in pc but the only thing we won't get is 1440p gaming, but that's no issue because we can do a lot more in a PC, like editing, coding , gaming, browsing etc. So I find pc to be a better option then a console. I did owned a PS4 in the past but I got bored😂so I sold it.

While reading this, it excites to have my console but I can't decide yet if I'll go for Xbox Series S/X or go with PS DE.

I can feel the excitement that you have as you share this while waiting for your new Series X. What are your choice of games? I'm not that much familiar with xbox console as I've never had it.

Unless you're gaming in 8K, S is more or less the most viable option. No need to upscale unless your TV has native 8K support and you'd pay extra for the eye candy.

And to make it more worthwhile, the S is already a few times more powerful than the previous One X.

I grabbed myself a Series X preorder yesterday.  Was quite the ordeal.  30 minutes of effort, but it paid off.

I also hooked up a PC to my big screen so I could experience 4K 60-120fps graphics from the couch while I wait for the console to arrive.  I must say, PC graphics are second to none, but the seamless experience from a console is unmatched.  Will be great to see the two combined for another generation of fun.

Hope some of my fellow gaming crypto enthusiasts got their hands on a preorder as well.

I have the same feeling as what mttewndew said. Why would I play a game if I have it already in PC?

But the enjoyment is way different from playing it with consoles like XBOX or PS. Now it got me thinking if I'll be good purchasing xbox or ps' latest releases.

Multitasking. With the PC, you could game and switch windows in seconds. And then there's the control. Mouse and keyboard combo is still the king when it comes to fast-paced RPGs and FPS.

Nevertheless, it's nice to have a console as a backup for enjoying some exclusive titles and a multimedia system.
Yes, you're right.

I know the feeling of what OgNasty has said about sitting back and relaxing on a sofa with huge screen playing your favorite game. Although you can really play those games of your choice with a PC.

But the gaming experience for both choices are different.
