Twitter is literally ruined right after eLon Musk took control of it. I have literally seen many Crypto scams mostly the LayerZero idk what that project is but I have seen people commenting below that how their Metamask wallets got empty right after they opened the website. It's unbelievable that how their team doesn't even do a manual verification before posting the Ads.

I do not recommend anyone to click any links on any social media including Twitter related to Crypto. And, use Hardware wallets.
Twitter lost itself after elon bought it..It became so flooded with fake posts, ads that many stopped using it which was also true for me. Everyday I would get tons of notification of certain crypto projects, that looked fishy from the start. To be honest, it was kind of disturbing. So I left twitter aka X Tongue for good.

The user expresses concern about (X.com's) susceptibility to phishing website ads due to the ease with which users can obtain a blue tick for a small monthly fee .  This blue tick, typically a symbol of verified accounts on social media platforms,  can potentially mislead new users,  making them more susceptible to scams . The user suggests that this feature makes (X.com) more vulnerable to scammers and misinformation compared to other platforms..

I almost only visit twitter on the website with an adblocker turned on. On the rare occasion that I use the app I notice that there are a lot of low quality and scammy looking advertisers on there. Big companies don't want to advertise on there anymore because of Elon endorsing controversial ideas. As a result, we are more likely to encounter these scam ads and because they laid off most of their moderation staff it can take many weeks for them to be removed.

X.com (Twitter) has now become the easiest medium for scammers to promote their scams. The X.com advertising system makes it easier for scammers to reach more people with fake/phishing websites. So newbie crypto users and those inexperienced with such phishing scams should avoid such tempting ads and refrain from connecting their wallets to any unknown websites. Because the main goal of these scammers is to get access to the wallets of crypto users, and for this they are promoting phishing websites with such tempting ads.

Social media is just full of scammers. I don’t trust any of the links or advertisements I see on social media, not only on x.com. Any ads you see on most of those social media, just view and pass, don’t even try to click the link, because you might end up falling victim. Since those scammers are always making attractive offers, lots of people who think they can make free money from crypto are always seeing it as an opportunity for them to make money, so they won’t care to even give out most of the information the scammers need.

I do see some scam patterns to be cheap, which I don’t think people should fall for, but to my greatest surprise, lots of people are still falling for them, because if people are not falling, they should have just stopped scamming and done something real to get money, but I think scammers are even increasing on a daily basis.

X.com (Twitter) has now become the easiest medium for scammers to promote their scams.
The bigger the social media platform, the more scammers that are in it. Scammers will go where they can meet lots of people. X, Facebook and Instagram are large fishing sites for them for people they can deceive, because there are many new users joining these social media platforms every hour and these people who are naive to think that everything, they will see on the platform will be legit will be the first to be victims of this wickedness and get scammed.

I thought that Elon is clearing things on his newly acquired social media.  Grin
Well, with too much freedom that he has given to his platform. Even the scammers are also free to roam around and post the links of their phishing websites and can even avail to pay that blue tick badge.

I don't think that there's much that X,com can do about this, it's a public domain, therefore the good, bad and the ugly all have access to their service. Besides this problem is not peculiar to them, any public domain like Facebook, WhatsApp, telegram and the rest of them are also  hubs for this scammers to advertise their evil deeds. The only thing that we can do is to inform our loved ones to be on the lookout for these phishing website ads on social media, to also bring the information to groups that we belong to, so people can be informed and avoid these traps.
X.com is a public domain, as you said, but some public domains or social media do have restrictions on some actions that are part of their policy, and they are strictly followed even though scammers are violating some of them.Twitter's mode of verifying accounts is now terrible, making it not a safe place to rely on because everyone can buy a blue tick, unlike other platforms where you have to meet certain requirements before your account gets verified, so that when a verified account shares something that is not good or promotes a scam, the platform can easily track them and know the right action to take against them.Nevertheless, Twitter has been a home for scammers because it is one of the platforms that promote cryptocurrency.

Once a man, twice a child!
That's the problem with every social media platform. The problem with X com is much bigger as the bluetick in front of the username can fool a lot of new users. If I am correct anyone can pay a small amount monthly on X.com and can get bluetick.
This is why no one should trust any site on face value without verifying it. However, people think it's tiring doing their own research before investing in any project and they want to easily leave their fate in the hands of influencers or those they think are "verified" to be honest because of a cheap blue tick. Yes, I concur that research is huge work but then everyone should be interested where their money/investment is. No amount of time put into doing one's research should be exhausting.

I always get tons of tweets like this, and the sender will tag my name to the tweets, the thing is I don't like freebies and I will never fall for some cheap trick, they will copy the original project tweet and using a malicious link on their retweet, if you try to claim those shit fake airdrops your wallet will be broken and they will steal all your assets.

Right from time twitter has been like this, even before Elon Musk took over the company, I always thought he will do better and defect this scammers but I was wrong, you are to protect yourself,  the fastest thing that get you killed is freebies, if you like free things you will fall into traps of anything, have some self worth and stand on the fact that nothing is really free.

Now that the next bull market is months far away you should know better that scammers will start having more energy to pull their stunts on people that love free things, imagine how devastated you will be if you lose everything when the bull market is very close.

Good information. Thank you.
This is not limited to only X. It is rampant on other social media platforms as well. There is nothing that the owners can do. The best is to advice users to be careful of clicking and visiting untrusted websites. Another way is for others users to report these scam websites just as you have done.
Agree. Something like this isn't only visible in X or Twitter. It's also been growing in different social medias. The more user growth a platform have, you can expect that different scam schemes will also grow. Of course, they'll go where the people are. It's probably also hard for these platforms to regulate every posts their users do so instead of just relying at them to take down suspicious links and ads, we need to be responsible as well. Especially in the internet— we can't just click any link we see.

No matter how big a platform is, you cannot trust them completely to keep you safe. Also, X is a huge platform and a lot of crypto related stuff uses X to promote, interact, and get updates related in this space. So people, especially beginners in crypto should be more careful.

Twitter should put some effort into moderating such phishing ads and think about the safety of their users.
They don't think about users' safety. Twitter is one of the uncensored social media pornstars who post porn videos and they do nothing. It cannot be a social media. Not only Twitter but Facebook also approves such ads which contain phishing links.

But as far as I think Twitter will not remove these scam/phishing ads until they face any legal problem.
Even if they face legal problems, they might fight against it saying the users should report the phishing links to co-operate with them. They can't check each service before they approve the ads. Afterall, they have a back. But Bitcointalk forum does not have their back which is the reason they are censoring the mixers.

Twitter allow scam advertisement because I believe they do not moderate scams anymore. Moreover, they do not censor the linking to mixers as well. But If you have noticed the recent development, our beloved BitcoinTalk which is supposed to give full freedom of speech is now censoring mixers. Admin afraid, the forum might get seized for linking to the mixers. What about social media like Twitter and Facebook? Aren't those platforms more centralized and more censored than BitcoinTalk? Sorry for the off-topic mate.
Everything Twitter is doing now is for money making, so they don't care if any scam website is promoted on their platform. But victims can tell just how dangerous these scam ads can be. Twitter should put some effort into moderating such phishing ads and think about the safety of their users. This already happening in Twitter long time ago.Not only phising website ads, many scammer do anything to scam target like create a fake giveaway.
Since every account can get blue verification by paying every month/year. Many fake account pretend to be original account make the scammer more easy to try scam target.
Yeah. Twitter is now more dangerous than ever due to paid blue badges. This paid blue badge gives scammers more freedom to pretend to be real accounts, creating more problems for Twitter users in the future and fraudsters will continue to take advantage of it.

Actually, this blue tick has made things more complex because back in time, I used to trust on posts if they had blue tick but currently, anyone can have blue ticks, and the current time is of joining airdrops and there is a big hype in the market, even I am joining many even the smallest ones. And I have seen the blazpay airdrops tasks but I did not perform any task. Well, I don't know if that website was legit or not because I am unable to remember it now.

The best trick I can give you to guys is, to install an extension Vstats and it will tell you the number of traffic a website is getting like for BTT the website is around 1 Million.

If the website you are going to connect your wallet with has a lower number of traffic (less than 50k) then try to look for the origin of that website from the official platforms like the twitter or Discord accounts. And the best thing is do not to follow or perform any airdrop task coming from the Twitter accounts. Instead, join the telegram accounts of reputed people. I have joined some people for almost over 1 year so I trust them and click and connect on most of the websites they have shared till now.

Twitter x is the worst place to click a link or even follow any promotion that just pump up and twitter doesn't restricts those scammers why because they are the center for scamming people. This is what made me to reduce my interest to use twitter as a matter of fact the rate of scam is increasing every day by day so newbie should be alert of whatever they clicked.
Media like X should be a place to avoid due to fake information and scam link

Social media is a channel where most scammers and hackers drop some phishing links, and those social media sites don't seem to filter out some of those posts all the time. I don't think this is anything new; even when Twitter was not yet with the name X, this sort has been posted there before, and I believe that even if someone takes their time to look through other social media like Facebook, There are some Facebook posts you will come across, and if you open the comment section, you will see most of those phishing links.

I stopped using Twitter AKA X, a long time ago because of this reason. Before the takeover of Twitter by Elon, it was somehow still usable. But after Elon took control, everything changed. Fake phishing fraudulent promotional message notifications skyrocketed. Every day, I would get suggestions from random crypto projects, giveaways, airdrops, etc. Every single day. Twitter doesn't even verify whether the ads are real or fake. So annoying. Later, I thought FCUK Twitter. I won't use it anymore.

It would have been better if you hadn't directly posted the links directly. We humans have an urge or tendency to do the unthinkable. We don't listen. This curiosity might harm us one day. At least edit it, so that it doesn't show as hyperlinked or clickable.

I am not surprised to see this, because social media has been a medium nowadays for scammers to socialize with their victims and lure them into their scam trick with offers that are too good to be real. X own has increased significantly, after Elon took over the company.

It is better to avoid any link on social media that you don't trust and stay away from platforms that offers big returns for a tax that is asked of you to carry out because they are scammers and don't get carried away with greed because there is no get rich quick scheme that is real. Don't fall for them as your safety is in your own hands

As you know, these platforms do not care about anything except for money. If you pay for the advertisement, no matter what are you advertising. You are allowed to promote anything.

X.com (Twshitter) has now become the easiest medium for scammers to promote their scams.
~snip~

Hasn't it always been like that? The new owner just raised it to an even higher level, considering that he managed to turn a company that was successful into a company that lost millions of users, so it should not be surprising that someone found one phishing link, there are certainly thousands of them.

Although what is the difference between that platform and other social networks and communication applications that have essentially become tools for scammers and hackers who earn loads of money in a relatively easy way?
