I'm on block 23420 in the updated windows wallet.

Do I have to wait a certain time period before my coins stake?

thats the correct block

Yes staking is random and can take up to 30days

So staking begins randomly anywhere from 8hours to 30days.  Does it matter how many coins I have whether I have 100 or 10,000 coins?

I've already updated wallet to 1.33 and is unlocked. When I highlight the minting lcon, it says that I'm minting, but stake is still 0.00.

yes, randomly from 8hrs up to 30days. i am pretty sure (but i don't know exactly) that it matters in a way how many coins you own. I think that because if it didn't matter then i couldn't understand what the "weight" should tell me. and you are not allowed to move coins around different wallets/exchanges if you want them to stake. if moving around then you reset the "staking-timer".
example:
-you have got 100000coins (100k)
-you don't move them around
-stake interest is 3.3%/year
-that means you get 3300coins/year if you leave them staking in your wallet
- that means 275/month roughly

Yes the amount of owned coins matters when staking. The more you have the easier you get a stake. Just like difficulty in pow.

Thanks.  That's what's puzzling me.  I should have enough XC coins to stake quickly if the weight is put into consideration.  The last date that I've transferred coin out was on 5/28.

I did read it. When my coins arrived at the address, a few days ago, my wallet was saying "not minting because coins are not mature" or something like that. After some 8 hours it started to display "minting" and telling the weight etc. Now, the minting is not working or the wallet is giving false information, in either case, it needs to be fixed.

I did read several post and atsecure also replied to me sand another guy saying that it was like a lottery, etc. Also it would be unreasonable to ask someone to read all the previous posts in a thread, especially if the thread has several pages.

Did you miss the part : can take up to 30 days disregard what it says in small yellow message box in the wallet?

so will nayone reply to me? -_-

Same for me, no reward for minting but it seems it can take time, so ..

I have coins stacked for more than a day... the last reward estimate ginished 1 hour ago but still nothing.

Proof of Stake is pure lottery based on the coin weight/age, I will be posting some details later today w/ the guides on the proof of stake function.

Now you can go back to being a childish idiot Smiley

How long have you waited?

When the estimated tiem was 15-9 minutes each time, like 2 hours. ANd the time it took to arrive there it was several days. And when I sent just 10 XC to an exchange it restarted all the stake, that is, my remaining coins lost the staked time.

I like the coin and stuff, but it's not looking well atm.

1. ive experienced that the estimated time to stake is not accurate and this applies to all POS coins, ive had staking time less than 1 min and it took days to find a POS block, think of it like solo mining POS blocks, its an estimate but takes some luck factor, in the average though you will get 3.33% interest for the year

2. sending coins will restart coin age, with "coin control" you can select which coins to send from, XC wallet has this feature

Ok, thanks for the serious reply Smiley

I am running Xnode atm and seems it works, i recived  payment 1 xc in 3 transactions sum, and then my wallet automatically sent 1 XC

Did you received any fee for relaying the transaction? I wonder how that works.
Nope

Yes it means you are minting atm. But it's a chance game and it can take up to 30 days to get payed. Or you want the 3.33% a year in the first day?

I know I can do whatever I like and I just said that it doesn't seem to be working well. Why are you guys taking it so personally, almost as personal attacks, and trying to insult me because of it?  It's just childish.

BTW, I'm not the only one complaining about minting problems...

Question has already been answered 1000 times in the Forum Staking can take from 8 hours to 30 days without moving any coin from the wallet if you did not wait 30 days you should not post what you did before. that is why we are taking it personally. It is not a good attitude to post on a forum withouth checking any of the previous posts.

any reply other than ad hominems?

From my best recollection, minimum staking requires at least 8 hr coin age but can take up to 30 days...

The time you see on the wallet is just an estimate

Hi all, loving the work on XC

My first post ever! Smiley hopefully many more the come

Just a quick question of anyone can help me, I have an imac and I want to start staking?

Can someone please advise me how to do it,

I would appreciate it alot

Thanks

You need to buy some XCs at: https://www.mintpal.com/market/XC/BTC

Then withdraw to your XC wallet, unlock the wallet, then your wallet will start mint automatically, normally, you need to wait for more than 8 days to get the stakes.

It's not working! I'll just take my coins of the wallet and sell them.

Your weight: 1308
Network weight: 8849
Reward Estimation: 10 min

Rewards won = 0

Do it, you can do whatever you like.
