there are some failed payments most likely due to someone minning with an invalid duck address.  I will process these through now.

Unrelated question- Is there something wrong with the network? According to extremepool there hasn't been a block in 7 hours.

I'd say the issue is with the pool, considering the last found block on the network was 5 minutes ago.  The pool OP probably needs to restart the daemon.  You (and or I) will/can chat him on freenode.  I believe the OP is dayas.
Extremepool is in the middle of massive server upgrades, however the issue with stats not reporting correctly is being looked into right now.

Yeah that would be...interesting. Or dinaro. Diner is a palce you eat at, while dinar is a recognized name.
...

The dinar is called dinaro in Italian, in Greek it's almost the same (dinario - δηνάριο). The dinar is a fiat currency used in 9 countries.

Personally, I'm fine with duckNotes.

Not to mention it sounds to familiar with Monero. This in turn cold be bad.

Dinaro\Dinero may sound familiar to Monero, but they are also real words. Dinaro- Italian, is a monetary unit\Dinero- Spanish, means money.

Dinero is commonly used as slang for money in the U.S. and is the one I prefer. XDN ticker would work with either one. It seems most people here are fine with duckNotes.

I just brought up a name change because I can't really see something called a duckNote becoming a commonly used currency. For those who would argue Dogecoin, I can only say that I think Doge is dying. DuckNote also seems like a silly name for a currency that could be taken seriously. These are just my opinions, and I respect whatever the developer decides. This really is his coin to do with what he wants.

Unrelated question- Is there something wrong with the network? According to extremepool there hasn't been a block in 7 hours.

No objection from me. Valid points. I never said "dinaro" is the one, just that a name as good as monero would be great. Basically what you said.

Might be. But I like something that sounds serious, not just a joke. Monero has a true currency name.

And yes duckNotes where started like that, it sounds original, but is it worth sacrificing recognition by not having a well rounded name...

Not at all, but we dont do it by stepping on the toes of another coin and causing animosity among teams.

The name does need to be replaced in my mind, but we can find a more suitable name that driven by originality.

How about changing the name to dinero?

Yeah that would be...interesting. Or dinaro. Diner is a palce you eat at, while dinar is a recognized name.

Not that duckNote is bad, but Monero, Dinero/Dinaro just sound a bit more like money.

I think it's likely it would bring it more attention than duckNote that is yet to become a recognized name.

(just playing with names - or maybe centauro, because the supply of XDN is big, and "cents" imply many, and the mythical centaur ofcourse)

centauro much more powerful name than duckNotes, would be a good compliment to the Monero as sort of a Doge, and let's be honest - animal names just aren't that hot anymore

Back to the beginning, I would be perfectly fine picking dinaro over duckNotes, although most here would probably object?

Has this hit an exchange yet?
Please vote on Poloniex. This is the DOGE of Cryptonight, and 4 min block time is a winning difference.

Why is the 4 min block time better than, say, quazar's 2 min, or monero's 1 min?

I wouldnt say that its the winning differance, but this eliminates the number of orphans that other CN coins have. I dont believe this coin has a winning differance other than being an early adoption of CN.

Thank you.  That was amazing well put.
